This is creepy. I just want to continue being what I am: a man.

This is fiction created by the TRAs, why the hell would they create a fictional situation where their characters are harrassing someone with conversion therapy rhetoric?! They are doing nothing to help the gay character accept reality, just jumping straight to transition despite his clear desire not to. No wonder they act the way they do IRL if this is their fantasy. It's disgusting

I am also absolutely disgusted by the creators that make fictional characters "trans", "nonbinary", "genderqueer", or "genderless", even proceed to brainwash the gay characters in their stories to hate themselves instead of accepting reality for what it is and themselves for who they are. They like to see characters being miserable and mentally ill (e.g. "trans", I wouldn't ever want anyone, even a fictional character, to go through the excruciating pain that is mental illness, of any kind. I have anxiety disorders, I wouldn't ever wish it upon anyone even if it's a fictional character because I know how difficult it is, and that these people wish for someone else to go through their mental illness which is thinking they have a "gender identity" is sickness in my view), and they like harassing gay characters and make them as miserable as the followers of the "gender identity" ideology are. Their fantasies show how sick they are in the head, and as you said it shows why they act the way they do in reality when they spend their time creating and/or reading such fiction. 😔

Note how the gay character in question never expressed he felt wrong being a man but he felt wrong being gay. It's alarming the reaction of these characters is just to transition him into a woman. They are homophobic.

You have to screen lesbian romance novels carefully these days to filter out the theys and the trans, not to mention the obsessive dog people (don't read any vet / pet / animal shelter / etc related novels unless you are a fan of the noisy slobbering beasts)

Got any recommendations? I've been meaning to try to find a couple good books but have put off doing so because I don't want to start a whole book and realize halfway through it's some pro-trans spiel :/

I'm loathe to give recommendations because what I like may be not what someone else likes, as I've discovered when I try books others recommend to me.

Usually the reviews of Goodreads are a good way to tell, filter by 1* and 2* reviews and there is usually someone commenting if it's something pro-trans disguised as a lesbian novel.

Ah, now THAT'S a good tip! Thanks, will watch out for that.

This is a really good idea! Thanks.

I understand dressing up and role-play. This isn't it. This is training people to see feminine gay men as dirty little secrets at best and actively deceptive predators at worst.

This is just downright depressing and does nothing but cement the fact that this is no longer about any form of mental illness (besides narcissism, that is.)

Mildly related: it never ceases to surprise me the amount of these people who cry that being trans is so difficult and totally not a phase and then turn around and produce "gay" fanart/fanfics where the transman has prominent top scars and a vagina. You'd think it would be triggering if everything I'd heard about gender dysphoria is true.

You'd think it would be triggering if everything I'd heard about gender dysphoria is true.

This is the reason I peaked one day. I've been seeing obvious cognitive dissonance in what many trans people said or how they acted.

I was first confused how a pre-transition transwoman felt comfortable being stripped naked in a bath together with a pre-transition trans man... I understood dysphoria as feeling awful being seen in your wrong body... so how these people... felt perfectly fine... After hearing how gender dysphoria can make you suicidal then how the fuck you felt fine in a such situation? This was my first red flag.

Then the other examples of trans people feeling perfectly fine with their "wrong" genitals. It seems like they don't mind being basically sort of hermaphrodite - chicks with dicks or dudes with a vagina.

I also felt strange about a transman saying he likes to see drawn anime images of guys with pussies cuz it helps him to cope...? Shouldn't that be triggering?

Also the whole pronouns obsession. Doesn't it feel better to have someone get your pronouns right just because you pass or you just say in your bio you're a woman/man instead of forcing people to call you a certain way? Do they enjoy living in delusion, in a lie if they don't pass at all?

The art of transmen with top scars and obvious pussy also made me ask how isn't it triggering for people who wanna be literally seen as men? Thinking of this I always wondered why they specify they are trans-men or trans-women if they wanna see themselves as real men or real women? Doesn't that other them - make them a subgroup of men and women?

Stuff like this make me genuinely think people took advantage of a genuine medical condition and turned it into a lifestyle. Very unhealthy lifestyle with many irreversible changes - and promoted to young impressionable people. It appears to me that these people enjoy just looking a certain, unique way. Or we are dealing a completely different mental disorder which can look like transsexualism but it isn't and it shouldn't be treated like one.

Curious what this is from?

It's from a stiles x derek story I picked to read and dropped, especially after those specific lines where one character suggests stiles (who in here is a gay man) undergo a "sex change". Stile's fake "friend" scott makes him miserable and says very homophobic things to him that have made stiles go through internalized homophobia himself and instead of helping him accept himself, his other fake "friends" tell him "sex change is an option" :'(, here you go: https://archiveofourown.org/works/14182794?view_full_work=true

Holy shit. That is so extreme. We need a sub called s/TransTheGayAway or something for shit like this. Wow.

I'm sorry you happened upon this while trying to read something for fun, that's gross as fuck.

Thank you so much for understanding me 🥺

I feel terrible everytime I stumble upon anything homophobic and pro-trans (and the "trans" parts are themselves homophobic, so it becomes double homophobic). I had a tough day as usual and wanted to feel better, but that twisted, homophobic and pro-trans story destroyed all my progress and I ended up feeling perplexed and grossed out.

I think even without the pro-trans parts, I would drop that story because it's homophobic everywhere. Scott is so homophobic, tells stiles "you can't be gay your whole life stiles! Act normal if you can't be normal!", and stiles goes through so much psychological pain because of him. I feel so bad for him.

I wish creators would stop making the gay characters miserable. We see a lot of homophobia and pro-trans people in society as it is, I don't need more of them in fiction 😭

I hope to find good stories from now on.

I have had this exact experience before multiple times. I feel you dude. I dunno what types of stories you're into but I have slowly collected a list of stories that do not have any homophobic or pro-trans content in it.

Scott is so homophobic, tells stiles "you can't be gay your whole life stiles! Act normal if you can't be normal!", and stiles goes through so much psychological pain because of him. I feel so bad for him.

That just sounds like a really bad one, geez.

I agree. I have zero confidence in my abilities to write same-sex relationships, I'm still uncomfortable enough with my own sexuality as it is, but this makes me want to write stories myself, lol.

They often slip the true reason for why such people transitioned and how they see gay people. It is deeply concerning.
