Steven Universe is literally propaganda for kids. I'm glad I'm not a parent, because I'd be constantly worrying that my child was being fed dangerous psuedoscientific political beliefs through fucking cartoons of all things.

It's a dystopian nightmare that we're living in, but few people see it that way because it's left-leaning, postmodernist extremism, instead of Nazi-esque fascism.

Exactly! People expect the overtly-brutal, cold gray joylessness of George Orwell's 1984... but-- great though it is-- the dystopian book that actually came TRUE was Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. Its vision of an empty, artificial "happiness" (notably sexual hedonism so amoral as to be inhuman... sound familiar?), all bright and shiny and seductive, is truly the stuff of nightmares... yet rarely recognized as such. Much less as the Western world's current reality.

Who'd ever have guessed that Brave New World would become OUR world? Or that the more accurate prediction would be a satire?

The attacks on language and the glorification of endless warfare are right out of Orwell. The fake-happy tone is from Huxley.

You're right: it's truly the worst of both worlds :(

A boot stomping on a human face forever... with the human so brainwashed by feelgood drugs and ideology that they ENJOY it (or at least believe that they ought to).

No, the one that came true was Atlas Shrugged...

Why isn't this considered a dystopian novel alongside Orwell's and Huxley's? Seems especially creepy to me as a dystopia that regards itself as a UTOPIA.

It's supposed to be dystopian...
