A forum would be relatively easy to set up and host or find a host for, especially for a smaller group. As a bonus it would be more accessible to older people.

I agree that a forum would more likely appeal to people over the age of 30.

I would certainly be turned off joining a discord due to me associating the software with gaming and obnoxious children (yes I realise that it is not just used for gaming clans these days, but it's hard to shake that perception).

I think a website a LGB news front page and a community forum would be a good mix.

Well, while certainly not opposed to a forum setup... I'm decidedly over 30, super-tech-impaired, AND comfortable with chat. Even though I only began using it earlier this year. Okay, might be an outlier there, but keep in mind that us older people often have experience with chat through customer service (as was the case for me), even if we're strangers to it on social media.

Also? Am far from a gamer (have never played one to date actually!), yet very active on Discord. (Which I had never even heard of till a few months ago.) So it can be done! At least by a weirdo like me. :)
