“California has some of the strongest pro LGBTQ+ laws in the nation and with the bills signed today, our march toward equality takes an additional step forward,” (California governor) Newsom said Saturday.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/newsom-signs-law-allowing-transgender-inmates-to-be-placed-in-prisons-according-to-gender-identity

Gavin Newsom also signed a bill that would help track LGBTQ+ healthcare, which begs the question - how will California track COVID statistics accurately if transgenders are included as if they were born the sex they ID as? COVID disproportionately affects males, so is CA going to skew the world's COVID stats for transgenders' feelz?

And what about gender fluids and non-binarie? What's the point in keeping health statistics, or any kind of statistics if people can identify into and out of biological sex?

Back when Bush the II was running for re-election and Gavin Newsom was mayor of San Francisco, Newsom decided to make gay marriage legal. Footage of joyous same-sex marriages in San Francisco flooded the airwaves. Well, that would have been great(!!!) except the US apparently was not ready for it, not even California (Prop 8 was proposed a few years later) and I have always thought that Newsom helped swing the election to Bush II.

Now, in the most crucial election of my lifetime, Gavin Newsom does it again - men in women's prisons - conservatives are Tweeting and people across the political spectrum are aghast.

Thanks, Gavin Newsom, thanks for getting a crazy Republican asshole re-elected president, AGAIN.

Prop 8 - California passed a bill to ban gay marriage a few years after Newsom legalized it in San Francisco https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_California_Proposition_8

conservatives are Tweeting and people across the political spectrum are aghast.

This kind of thing just got killed in the UK, probably because 2% of our male prisoners identified as women and how easily this system was abused became obvious.

Our own govt advisors warned them exactly this would happen. You'll probably see it happening in California imminently.

I'm pretty sure there's some international law that states we have the right to single sex incarceration, not single gender. It's being ignored wholesale right now.

I wonder how bad things will get before the woke admit that this doesn't work. I expect a lot will double down on it. I've literally had transwomen and supporters say 'women commit sex offences too'.

According to the US rad fem group, the Women's Liberation Front (WoLF), the Geneva Conventions mandate prisoners be segregated by sex:

https://twitter.com/WomensLibFront/status/1303009487406727169

However, to Wokerati like Gavin Newsom and Scott Wiener, Transwomen ARE Women(!)

If anyone ever said to me "women commit sex offenses too" I would point out that more than 98% of sex offenders are men, and female sex offenders tend to be only accomplices to men, or hot teacher sleeps with underage, but willing, student (which I'm not excusing - I think those women should get the book too).

Also, women can't get anyone pregnant, whereas men can force women into pregnancy, so really, I would tell the TWAW crowd that until men can be forced to reproduce by women there is no comparison. I can't believe we would have to explain that in 2020, but here we are...The War on Women will never end.

[–]GConly 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Virtually all forcible sex attacks are committed by males. I've been spending decades reading the studies... I've not found in the UK on verified stranger sex attack by a solo woman on an adult woman. Plenty by men dressing as women.

Where you do find forcible female offenders, they are virtually all assisting male offenders.

It's a little different in prison, but then again most sex offences in women's prisons are committed by men.

Wow! I hadn't even thought to look there. They might claim this isn't a war, but it IS a war on women. And TWAM. We all know that. Newsom, Wiener, the lot of them need to use the biological definition of woman. We don't LARP in the real world. Geneva Convention -- this might be where it ends? Why should non-wartime treatment of prisoners be different? Very good call! I just looked:

In non-international armed conflicts, Protocol Il provides similar rules. It specifies that women who are arrested, detained or interned "shall be held in quarters separated from those of men and shall be under the immediate supervision of women except when members of a family are accommodated together" (Art. 5, para 2a). In the event that it is not possible to provide separate quarters it is essential in any event to provide separate sleeping places and conveniences. It should be noted that the foregoing provisions refer both to civilians deprived of their freedom and to captured combatants.[15 ]

Thanks for finding the actual Geneva Convention passages. So California is in violation.

Now New York state senate has a bill to put transgenders into women's prisons. Anyone who cares, please contact the New York state Senate ASAP and quote the Geneva Conventions.

To be fair, Biden is a lot worse even from a "social justice" viewpoint. He authored the 1994 crime bill that locked away millions of people for drug offenses, a large percentage being minorities due to the wording of the bill. He supported segregation as well and only backed off on it when it became politically inconvenient. Let's not forget that Kamala threw the book at non violent drug offenders including Cannabis users while laughing about how she smoked weed in college, to which her own father said "stop lying."

Trump is a hard pill to swallow on a personal level and I don't really like his third justice pick but he's not trying to divide the country on race, sex, and religion like the left currently is.

I find it very ironic that so many people here still lean as hard left as they do given the current circumstances.

Because the things we have issues with such as gender ideology are not necessarily reflective of liberal values. In fact, they are often quite the opposite and just masquerade as such.

I hate the Democrats, but I have had the opportunity to travel overseas fairly widely, and part of my job was to pay attention to both US and global events, so I have seen how countries can go from stability to dictatorships seemingly overnight.

I have never been more frightened of any US president or any US party than I am of Donald Trump and the current Republicans. Trump and his goons are actively encouraging a Civil War in order for him to stay in power - no US president has done that as far as I recall.

And a second Trump term won't just be the loss of clean water/ clean air/ food safety standards - because that's already happening.

A second Trump term will result in the absolute corruption that I have seen in other countries, the stifling of dissent by violent means, hatred and strife between ethnic groups and religions, the triumph of the 0.01% over the 99.9%.

We will be a country destroyed if Trump wins again (or seizes power), and I don't think there will ever be hope of America as we knew it somehow making it back to "beautiful."

[–][deleted] 15 insightful - 2 fun15 insightful - 1 fun16 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Dude you are unhinged. If you hated the democrats you would actually see how much they lie. I'm not a big fan of Trump but saying he's instigating a civil war when it's proven that very wealthy progressive donors are the ones behind the rioting is just gaslighting. It's impossible for me to take anything you say seriously.

[–]BEB[S] 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Why don't you look at my posting history to see how much I hate the Democrats? It's all there.

But the Republicans and Trump scare the fuck out of me, and I've been stuck in the middle of a bloody civil war.

I am convinced that, like in 2016, it's actually right wing donors and chaos enablers like Soros behind the riot funding. They're the ones who want Trump to win (Soros just wants chaos), and the sight of Democrat cities on fire certainly doesn't help the Democrats.

Notice how Hands Up Don't Shoot and BLM emerged during the last presidential election year and then disappeared until this year? The right wing Daily Mail, only during election years, has about six inflammatory article on often minor racial spats. The Karen meme emerges.

The first question detectives ask is, "Who benefits?"

Do the Democrats benefit from rioting? NO.

Also, do you listen to anything that comes out of Trump's mouth - not out of Fox "News," not out of Breitbart, but out of Trump's mouth itself?

Did Trump's TAPED interviews with Bob Woodward miss you?

There was a website running a lie count of Trump's lies and he's told hundreds of verifiable lies, often contradicting himself.

Trump has said that he's not sure if he's going to peacefully transfer power (I'm paraphrasing).

Trump has said he is going to put down Election Night insurrection.

Trump got rid of Post Office boxes, machines, put one of his corrupt cronies in charge of the Post Office and admitted it was to stifle voting by mail.

Trump is now trying to install as a Supreme Court justice one of the people involved on the Bush side in the Bush Gore 2000 election recount, and he's trying to do it before the election so she can decide the election if it comes down to mail in ballots, which, given COVID, it will.

BTW: The FBI found that it was actually Right Wing extremists that have actually done the vast majority of domestic terrorism in this country, and the Proud Boys are certainly jonsing for a fight.

But hang out on Right Wing sites, look at the comment sections - they are ready to use all their firepower to keep Trump in office, and they're the ones with the guns and the know-how to do it. I don't think they stand a chance, but I do think they can cause chaos, and from Trump's own statements, he'd welcome it.

After all, Trump is going to be prosecuted the minute he leaves office, and he'd rather take the US down than go to jail.

We will see if you are right or if I am, but again, I have witnessed firsthand countries go down, almost overnight. It can happen here, and I think it will.

"the stifling of dissent by violent means, hatred and strife between ethnic groups and religions"

It's the left that's doing that. They're the ones attacking/killing/refusing to serve Trump supporters, destroying businesses and implementing policies that are destroying cities (along with women's rights).

I find it very ironic that so many people here still lean as hard left as they do given the current circumstances.

To be fair, you don’t necessarily have to be right wing to oppose this woke madness. And some right wing people do support it, or are at least too spineless to oppose it. I say this as someone with a lot of right wing viewpoints.

Furthermore, a lot of left wing people don’t support the Democrats, the U.K. Labour Party or the Canadian Liberal Party. Just like a lot of right wing people don’t support the Republicans, the Tories or Germany’s CDU. A growing number of people all across the political spectrum see that politicians are just in it for themselves, they rarely ever read the bills they vote for, and they listen to lobby groups more than they listen to their citizens. In some countries they don’t even care if you threaten to vote them out of office. The solution is for ordinary people to realise that we have the numbers and stop obeying politicians. Bring back strong, tightly-knit communities who can easily pressure politicians and the police. Get more involved in local politics.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I agree. I guess I just don't get how anyone could possibly want Biden or the dems in control of anything at this moment. That's not an endorsement of the Republican party by the way. I lean right but am not a Republican etc. As I see it Trump is trying to stop the woke madness and I'm in support of that. I have GREAT reservations about what is behind the death of wokeness though. It's not like the religious right is our friend in any form. We really are between a rock and a hard place.

[–]our_team_is_winning 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It seems like Wokeness can only be fought through education, and education is solidly in the hands of the Woke. I feel like I'm living under a Woke Dictatorship. If Donald Trump had a fraction of the power he's accused of having, then CNN would be shut down, the far left would all be arrested, the Woke agenda would be purged from schools, etc. Instead they're running the country and erasing women as they go. It's one thing to argue about taxes or oil drilling, but the Woke want to deny the existence of women as a sex. Already I don't know how I'll find another job. I cannot, simply cannot, LIE on demand. Apparently more jobs have trans training programs and strict rules about playing along with the LARP. Already I had to work with two trans "women" and I will NOT say "she" or refrain from freaking out if they come in the bathroom when I'm in there. Biden-Harris want to make it federal law that we ALL have to LIE. And it's not like there's so few trans "women" that 99% of us will never be in that situation. The numbers seem to be skyrocketing. I'm terrified of that "Equality Act" -- and I wouldn't doubt the Republicans jump on board with it too. Sure wish they'd at least rename it the "Insanity Act."

I agree with you. As much as I like Trump more - or at least hate him less - than Joe Biden, I still don’t like the Republicans. And here in Ireland, all of our parties are either woke or spineless. The one exception is the National Party, who have no representation in our parliament, but they’re against gay marriage. At this point, I don’t support political parties. I do care about politics, but I no longer see political parties as the solution. The solution is communities coming together and exerting pressure on politicians.

The American belief that somehow this election is the most crucial in people's lifetimes is laughable conjecture

[–]BEB[S] 10 insightful - 4 fun10 insightful - 3 fun11 insightful - 4 fun -  (4 children)

I'm an American, remember President Johnson, and have paid attention to politics for most of my adult life, so I think that I would be a good judge of how crucial this election is, and I say it is the most crucial in my lifetime.

Donald Trump and the Republicans are dismantling the rules that govern our representative Republic. While I can remember all sorts of shit, Cheney for instance, to a huge extent both parties played by the rules.

Without those rules, we are not the United States that our Founding Fathers envisioned, we are the Banana Republic that Trump, McConnell, and so many Republicans are rapidly forcing us to become.

I loathe the Democrats, I FEAR the Republicans.

The Bush Dynasty is certainly unbelievably corrupt, but even its members had a certain respect for the office of the president that Donald does not hold.

Never in my lifetime has a president refused to guarantee a peaceful transfer of power. Never.

Trump and his family are violating the Enoulments Clause, over and over - Obama (and to my remembrance) either Bush did not. They are utterly corrupt - making money off of the office of the President.

Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, cannot get a security clearance, because (among other misdeeds) he's allegedly passing classified information to the Saudis.

It was Bush II who actually prepared the US for a pandemic, while Trump knew by early February that SARS II was a very dangerous airborne virus and not only called the virus a hoax, but did not put protocols into place that would ensure PPE for health care workers, leaving those heroes unprotected.

Nor did Donald wear a mask until July, and he's still holding maskless rallies.

Donald will not tell us when he last tested negative for COVID, meaning he might have deliberately tried to infect every person at the presidential debate including his opponent.

Donald's family very arrogantly took off their own masks at that debate, violating the protocol of the venue.

In the meantime, a relatively young member of my family died of COVID. My relative would not have died had Trump taken this virus seriously when he learned of it, nor would at least 100,000 other Americans.

I have never, ever seen a president so incredibly disrespectful of his office and his country than Donald Jackass Trump.
