Funny, because dogs (and a lot of other pets) absolutely can tell the difference between sexes and behave differently around men and women depending on their personality and past experience. Anyone in the business of rehoming animals knows this.

I think it is because of personal smell. I know few people with very strong sense of smell, in most cases they are easily saying sex of person by just sniffing.

Can confirm this, because of synesthesia I am very good at recognizing odors. And even 20+ years on HRT and after surgeries, still have a scent of a man (and "neo-vagina" smell is absolutely different and instant turn off). Don't ask me, why I am sniffing things like that, lol.

Dogs can tell by voice alone, although it would be interesting to see if they can still tell when trans people do their fake voice.

Cats can recognize owner even when they are changing their voice, not sure if dogs can.

Dogs can differentiate with strangers! If you put a dog in a room with an unfamiliar man and an unfamiliar woman and you play a man's voice through a speaker, the dog will look at the man almost 100% of the time. Cats are probably the same.

And no one made such experiments on transwoman and woman in room with man's voice played?

As far as I know, cats dislike commanding voices, so they should be more leaning towards women.

This actually makes sense and can even explain why men are loving dogs more and women are loving cats more on average.
