I've often wondered what "nonbinary" people are doing for languages where literally every single word has a gender lmao. I wonder if they would think China is enlightened and gender-neutral and forward-thinking for not having gendered pronouns 🤔

Chinese does have gendered pronouns in the written form:

他 - He

她 - She

它 - It

However these three words all sound the same in spoken Chinese. There is no 'gender neutral' pronoun that I'm aware of in Chinese, no equivalent of 'they', and other words are not 'gendered' in the way they are in European languages.
