GC feminists are allies of intersex people - where are you getting the idea otherwise?

The guy who I was responding to just said that. I frankly have no knowledge of how GC feel about intersex people, aside from his comment.

I didn't say that I see people on GC insulting intersex people all the time, I said that I have seen people on GC use "mentally ill" as a put-down.

I think that I was responding to the OP, so my apologies.

To address your second point, some posters on GC (like me) grew up at a time when speech had much fewer boundries than it does today, and people could say what they thought, because, really, offensive speech was just part of life, and we dealt with it because we had to.

I'd personally rather have someone tell me exactly what they think of me or of a political issue, or whatever, than if they hide it and then we get Trump, because if they tell me upfront, we can discuss it. Believe it or not, people in the US used to discuss politics civilly and remain friends.
