The simple answer is that it seems a lot of men have repressed a lot of misogyny from the past century and losing their all powerful status : Rowling is getting slammed while Gervais can get away for the simple reason that she's woman and he's a man.

I've realized lately that the whole issue which is at hand here is that men/males have always gotten to define everything, from their point of view, and that includes women. They always described us and studied us but they never thought to ask us how we would define ourselves. This whole issue right now seems to be that trans women, who are male, and their men allies, cannot seem to wrap it around their head that they CANNOT completely redefine what we are in order to appropriate our realities.

Think of someone like Contrapoints, who makes YT videos of over one hour to explain what it means to be a woman. It doesn't seem like he ever stops to think that maybe, just maybe, it would be nice if he spoke to at least a few of us about it, but no. He gets to define what a woman is because he thinks he knows because he is convinced of being one.

YT just sent me to a video of some gay man who "explained/proved", that JK was transphobic. His entire argument was centered around the fact that refusing to use "preferred pronouns" and "deciding which sex a person is" (I'm serious) is effectively a disrespect of that person's dignity and existence.

Last week I had someone who describes themselves as a trans woman tell me that he was a woman in the same way I was and that he knew he was for the same reasons I do (first of all, how are you assuming for what reasons I know I'm a woman ?). I asked that he define what a woman is, and he flat-out refused since doing so would be justifying his existence to me. He is asking that I, a woman, acknowledge that he is a woman, even though he is a male, and that he didn't have to justify his demand. I should just do it, otherwise I'm denying his existence.

A common point of all those people is that they are all males who not only seem incapable of accepting that women should be able to define themselves and decide who gets to "join the club", for lack of a better expression. But they are also completely ignoring the fact that to attempt to define us without asking our opinion. The fact that demanding we let them into our spaces and force ourselves to doublethink and doublespeak. The fact that they're basically saying the need for validation of trans males is more important than all of those things are for half of humanity... is pretty much an assault on our dignity and on our existence. Because if a woman is just some sort of nebulous concept that can be redefined at the whims of males, then what are we ? Women do not exist.

JK committed the atrocious crime of stating in public that we shouldn't lose everything for refusing to be defined by men/males and let those males appropriate our very existence. Problem is she's a woman.

Sorry, that was kind of GC.

Yes, I've been thinking very much along these lines lately.

After all, doesn't the whole "transwoman" phenomenon require us to define "woman" as... a feeling in a man's head?

And how terrifying is that? (To say nothing of insulting. Or depressing.) Especially since women themselves are being expected to sign on to this proposition. With enthusiasm, no less! Or else! Can you imagine that happening with any other group? "Black people: you're just a feeling in white people's heads! OK? Now get out there and spread the word! Unless you wanna be CANCELED, bigot!"

It's as though we're less real than "transwomen", honestly. Because if "woman" = whatever men think she is... then how can we possibly measure up to some dude's ladyfeelz? Our objective existence will always get in the way, whereas HIS "inner woman" is, by definition, a 100% pure product of the male mind. And that's the standard, apparently. Woman as imagined by men.

This is woke-misogyny, I guess. Where, as opposed to men just saying, "I'm better than you", they now put on lipstick and a skirt-that-goes-spinny and also say, "I'm a better WOMAN than you."

Very well put. And yes, I agree, it is terrifying. 😢
