I like ovarit but a lot of people there are unbendingly hung on up right vs left. Take this for the personal intuition that it is, but on a positive note I've noticed a shift away from that type of thinking lately, at least among the userbase. Ovarit is still nowhere near as pluralistic as saidit but I've gotten the impression lately that things are trending in that direction. So this is disappointing, and perhaps a sign that certain mods are out of touch.

They did allow an unarchived link post from federalist, so who knows where they are. It's not rhetorical, it's that it's very difficult to know where everyone is with the nested subs with their own rules and then the overarching rule.

I navigated the reddit gc for five years until it got shut down, but at least you knew where the minefields were. At least you knew you were reaching an audience.

I think the down vote buttons facilitate groupthink. I like that SaidIt does not have them.

Same and same. The downvote button also makes a forum more vulnerable to narrative manipulation from bots and shills; not a monumental issue for ovarit right now due to their invite system, but not a nonexistent one either.

Given that conservative media are pretty much the only mainstream media willing to give airtime to GC women, that seems short-sighted.

What circle did you post it in?

I hardly ever start threads on Ovarit coz of fear I'm breaking some rule. When I do start a thread, it's usually in Women.

Hey Twainiac, it was in Gender Critical. As I corresponded with most of the mods in the old r/gc, I assumed they'd be the same way in the new ovarit. When they relaxed the rule8 by allowing a clearnet article to be posted as a link, I figured it would be ok to talk about another article that's on cable TV. I really did get blindsided into how it had to be the same exact headline when I wanted my headline to be something else for the discussion.

My specific reason for discussing was seeing persons like Tucker Carlson, Hannity etc refer to the person as a "she" without making faces while posing his clearly bearded physique and pointing out that he used to be called James. My point is that they kept a straight face about it. The point was distinct from that of the article I posted and did not include what I watched on TV.

Women wanted to know where they could complain to fox. At least two links were provided. Every woman who stands up counts and sorry as of today will count more on this issue with conservative media as the other side frankly has given us no air time for at least seven years.

But hey, they're the mods over there, and here we are a more tolerant group. Rarely if ever is something yeeted unless it'd be obvious to 90 percent of the population as to why.

Ditto. I don't go to Ovarit often, but when I do I see admonishments from moderators about things being posted in the wrong places.

The mods sent me a generic modmail back saying I could post the whole thing with the proper, written by fox news headline.

It's not worth it to do so for me as the convo around it, including whom to go to at Fox, got yeeted by them.
