This is fantastic. I hope Dawkins is reading the responses; if he is any kind of thinker, he will see that the GC responses are the ones that make sense, especially to an atheist/biologist.

I suspect he's asking rhetorically. If he's done his homework, he already has an answer to his question, and can anticipate the kind of gibberish non-responses he's getting from TRAs.

It is very helpful to see public figures who aren't associated with feminism weigh in on this issue. Makes it alot harder to accuse people like him of being 'TERFs'

I think it's great that he's entered the fray. Once he found out the depths of the insanity - that biology was being rewritten - he probably felt he had to jump in.

The funny thing is, he has, as far as I can tell, only been on this kick since he read some GC book...was it Debrah Soh's? Either way. Mark of a good scientist is one that keeps their mind open to possibilities. I wonder if we'll eventually peak Neil Degrasse Tyson and others?

I'm sure once Dawkins became aware that the genderists were claiming that biological sex is a spectrum his horror compelled him to speak out.

IMO Neil Degrasse Tyson is like that Bill Nye, Science Guy, and blows with the wind. Bill Nye should be called Bullshit Guy because he's now spouting gender ideology. But perhaps Tyson will stand up for science.

I honestly believe with enough time and patience, they will all fall like dominoes.I don't think we will get close to peaking Bill Nye before Neil Degrasse though, a much more likely rational individual.

I posted a video on here of Bill Nye spouting gender bullshit. I've always felt Nye was an opportunist (and have heard gossip that he's not a nice guy & out for himself) but his enthusiastic capitulation to the anti-science of genderology was still sickening to behold, especially from someone who touts himself as the Science Guy.

I don't usually click Twitter links but this one was worth it. The bloodbath in the comments: chef's kiss

Watching Dawkins climbing toward the peak (as predicted years ago by South Park) has been so delicious. My brain did me a favour and read his tweet in Mr/s. Garrison's voice.

Thank you, Crank Prank Time Phone!

holy fucking shit I didnt even think of that, and im a huge SP fan..that episode...what must he be thinking lmao

[–]malleus_maleficarum 17 insightful - 4 fun17 insightful - 3 fun18 insightful - 4 fun -  (2 children)

They've been shockingly accurate in their predictions:

Mr. Garrison claiming to be a lesbian; his eagerness to get an abortion because it's validating; his blatant misogyny and sexual crudeness when talking about himself as a woman as real women edge away in disgust; his proclamation to Mr. Slave that because he's had a sex change they are now a straight couple; his shock and selfish rage when Mr. Slave says "but I'm gay" and rejects him; his homophobia and attempt to ban gay marriage; his transition regret and demand to be given a new penis as if he's some sort of lego set...

And then there's brave and stunning Bruce Jenner running as Garrison's Vice President after running down the pedestrian with his car (he's rumoured to be considering running for CA governor in real life).

And Strong Woman's run-in with her ex, who is identifying as a woman just to humiliate her and beat her at sports...

Whatever drugs Trey is taking, they appear to enable him to actually see the future.

And Strong Woman's run-in with her ex, who is identifying as a woman just to humiliate her and beat her at sports...

'Member when TRAs said that episode was a gross caricature and nobody actuallty supports this?

I 'member....

[–]malleus_maleficarum 8 insightful - 6 fun8 insightful - 5 fun9 insightful - 6 fun -  (0 children)

I 'member.

'member when Kyle identified as a black kid to play basketball and Gerald had an unethical surgeon perform a trans-species procedure to turn him into a dolphin?

But they were respectively actually neither black nor dolphin, and we all learned something...

I'd have thought the violent TRAs would be threatening to rape and burn Trey and Matt, and Richard Dawkins, the way they threatened JK Rowling. I wonder why they haven't...I just can't seem to put my finger on the penis, I mean reason, why they only target some people who point out their insanity. I wonder what they all have in common.

And that's enough sarcasm from me for one weekend.

Unrelated but malleus_maleficarum is a fantastic name.

Is that an opinion I detect? In the same vicinity as a pack of women?! Clearly sufficient evidence of the devil's presence. To the ducking stool with you!

I love Richard Dawkins so much.

People are already attacking him too. All he did was ask a valid question.

I can't wait for the day genderism is widely seen as retarded as creationism.

Dawkins is doing a bit more poking of the hornet's nest. He tweeted this today, April 11:

Existing words change meaning by gradual evolution. Or a redefinition or refinement is proposed & voluntarily adopted. Fine.

Not fine is when a word with a long-established common usage is bossily redefined, & adoption of the new meaning imposed by law or social bullying.

I was thinking about this comparison earlier today, and comparing it to Stalking Cat a man who did intense body modification to resemble a tigress. At no point did anyone turn around and say to Stalking Cat “oh you’re a real cat and I can tell now because you had these body modifications” no, we all understood that his body modifications were intense but they were his choice and what he wanted. He wasn’t attempting to deceive people or lie about being a human being.

Maybe transracialism is too hot a topic, and instead we should take a closer inspection of trans-animalism. Seems pertinent considering how rife the fury community is and the overlap between all sorts of rather sordid fetishes like ABDL, trans-furs, baby-furs, etc.

We've sort of bifurcated sex into two different things. There's the physical and biological component (i.e. sex) and the social and psychological component (i.e. gender). I've often wondered why sex is the only thing we're allowed to do this to.

Race is no different. Race has a physical and biological component, but there's also a social component. It gets into the same thing of how people perceive you vs. how you want people to perceive you.

Different races also have different cultural and performative characteristics, like with gender.

To pick sex as the only thing that people can sort of deny the physical component in favor of the psychological/social component never made sense to me.

A while back I had a discussion with another poster about Dawkins in which I said I remember Dawkins saying something supportive about some aspect of gender ideology but couldn't remember what.

The other poster didn't think that Dawkins would ever be taken in by gender ideology.

Anyway, here is what I was remembering. It wasn't from Dawkins, but from his foundation, so perhaps Dawkins never believed gender woo woo and this tweet was some recent university Queer Theory-grad intern with access to the Dawkins foundation twitter account:

https://twitter.com/TAFKAMacM/status/1380943742945869826

If not, Dawkins has (I hope) seen the light about gender ideology because he will be a powerful ally.

I imagine that Dawkins - like most of us - think that people like Jan Morris, Renee Richards & Buck Angel should be allowed to live their lives without facing harassment or discrimination for they way they've decided to live. It takes most people a while to twig to the fact that supporting "trans rights" in their present-day iteration means going along with a full-on assault on - & denial of - science, reason, free speech, language, reality, gay rights, girls & women's rights, dignity & safety, & fair play in female sports. And that it also means going along with child/young people abuse on a large scale.

[–]MarkTwainiac 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

And now Dawkins has backtracked & said he didn't mean to "disparage trans people." Then in the next sentence he disparages GC people as "Republican bigots in the US."
