Thanks for the thorough explanation! The whole thing sounds horrible.

I actually lived in Australia and loved it - just a gorgeous country. Although, when I lived there - decades ago - it was extremely sexist. Sad to hear that it might still be that way to some extent. I remember some Australian politicians being a bit over-the-the top and found them really amusing because they were such obnoxious loudmouths (kind of like some US politicians are now), but some were definitely male chauvinist pigs.

I hope that justice is done for Brittany Higgins, and the rape survivor, and also that March4Justice hasn't been taken over by TiMs. I was actually shocked that Australia has been as infiltrated by gender ideology as it has, because most of the Australians I met were very down-to-Earth and took the piss out of everything.

Sorry, I made a mistake, Higgins wasn't the one who committed suicide, it was a different person. They were both raped though.

She left behind a diary.

It's beginning to spread in Australia, University of Technology Sydney has "All gender" toilets, my university (a different university) have pronoun badges, but only so far has "her/she" and "he/him". I'm notbsurprised this type of culture exists in Australia, it's in all countries because "humans will be humans" (no one is a saint, however it would be nice if people aren't so bad that we need to set up laws to sue them and put them in jail as a deterrant). Majority of Australians were originally conservative, much like the North Americans, but over time we're getting progressive and soon, we might end up with the gender political mess you're seeing in North America.

That gender ideology has gotten so far in Australia really depresses me. I was counting on you all to stay strong and just laugh at how ridiculous the whole thing is.

I mean, many people in the US, once exposed to gender ideology, think it's a crock, and I thought Americans would be more susceptible to it than Australians given how fad-addicted we are.

Well, it's not as far as you think, it's beginning to take toddler steps. I haven't had any "It's ma'am" moments nor witnessed it, I have seen what looks to be a guy in a shirt and a skirt walking around before and I think I may have seen a male uni student with that. I remember there was this Chinese girl who lives in an expensive area of Sydney, she has problems with her parents and she's a lesbian who was dating a girl, but then ended that relationshil because said girl didn't want ti enter a three-way relationship and then decided to identify as trans and call her clearly heterosexual photos "gay" and her lingerie photos "cute boy" somethibg and something in the tag or psot description on tumblr and last time I checked, she stopped dating and still calls herself trans and yet still looks like a girl and wears "woke" clothing that looks loke its bought from etsy. "How is this relevant?" you are probably thinking right now, this same girl also aims to be a psychologist who majors in gender studies, and is actually encouraged (I don't remember if it's from her psychologist or a career adivsor), she has anxiety (and crappy misogynistic asian parents who may have caused that anxiety because they wanted a "boy" as she did state on Tumblr that is why her brother who is many years younger than her) and she intends to counsel people and apply her major. As far as I know we don't have trans-related laws, but we might be going that way.

On a hilarious note, I did wonder if she was pretending so her dad would give her something when he dies but then I remember her aim is to be a psychologist and she's doing gender studies. She also thinks the Ballad of Mulan is a trans related thing (I know it's bad but I use to stalk her Tumblr to laugh at the stupid things she says when I'm bored, also she put it on social media so it's out there for everyone to look at).

Australia has some trans-related laws. There's an Australian chapter of Save Women's Sports in response and also Tasmanian senator Claire Chandler has stood up to the gender lobby pretty vocally.

There are some Australian rad fems on Twitter. If I see them again I'll send you their twitter handles.

Hey, I know this is not relevant, but I was reading a famous fanfiction (I'm assuming the author is North American because she attends local comic cons there) and some character said they hit puberty and another character responded with disgust (and it was innocent, the kid was explaining how he grew extra tall). I don't think I've ever seen that reaction in Australia, but in American media I tend to see that, is it just thought the boy who hits puberty just sweats and grows a bigger dick that grosses people out (and girls having their periods)? or is there something else I don't know?

No idea. But I'm old and don't really have anything to do with kids of puberty age.
