When you call/write about the Equality Act, stick to women's rights; I don't even mention anything that has "gender" in it.

I say that the Equality Act will destroy women's sex-based rights, women's privacy, dignity and safety, and women's sports.

I ask Democratic politicians if they really want to lose the next few elections when women, who make up more than 50% of Americans and who are the backbone of the Democratic party, find out what the Equality Act means for them, their daughters/ mother/ sisters/ aunts/ friends.

And I could give a fuck about being called "transphobic" - if "transphobic" means "standing up for women's rights" which is what I'm doing, then what does that say about what transgender activists are really after?

Conflict of rights. Except a TiM can simply change his appearance and his oppression disappears.

My oppression, and that of every other woman on Earth, will not change if I take off makeup, cut my hair and put on pants. (which is exactly how I look right now, except for the long COVID hair! ;-)

I am with you, but I think there will be many well-meaning people who will support this because they support gay rights. I think it might be prudent to address LGB issues too, especially lesbian issues, to show that this will not be the boon for all gay people that they think it will be. If we can untether LGB rights from the T issue, I suspect a lot of the support would evaporate it (at least by those who are not being bought by the TRA lobby).

The T hijacked LGB precisely to piggy back on their fundraising, organizations and good-will. Trans activists were open about their hijacking.

The bottom line when we approach politicians is to focus on what the Equality Act means for women. As I've said, I only talk about the Equality Act's impact and its changing of the legal definition of "sex" to include "gender identity" on women's sex-based rights, women's sports, women's sex-segregated spaces - and don't even mention anything else.

Feminists In Struggle and LGB Alliance have apparently come up with ways to amend the Equality Act that would protect women's rights along with the gender people's, so if Congress were actually concerned about a conflict of rights, they could adopt FIST's amendments and everyone would be happy.

But Congress doesn't seem to care. I read on Ovarit that David Cicilline (sp?) the House representative re-introducing the Equality Act simply doesn't care about women's rights. He's going to fucking care when the Dems lose a ton of women in the next election. Dick-pandering, rape-enabling, arrogant prick.
