I do have links and I'm trying to find them. IIRC, in the US the puberty blockers alone ran around at least $1000 a month. Some insurance companies seem to be willing to pay for transitioning, so maybe they cover some of that cost.

Fixing the damaging effects of puberty blockers and cross -sex hormones is also going to be very costly.

And since all of these kids are on the autism spectrum or have mental health issues, the doctors (and perhaps even the parents) don't care if their reproductive systems are forever ruined, or if they are unable to have a satisfying sex life as an adult.

You are right that studies have shown that a high percentage of kids who want to transition are on the autism spectrum.

However, studies have also found that among kids who want to transition there are also high percentages of gay children, children who suffer from depression and anxiety, ADHD and kids who've been abused.
