So many of the Democratic congresswomen caught up in the US Capitol insurrection are now talking endlessly about their trauma, including AOC, who has added that she's a sexual assault survivor.

Yet many of these same Democratic congresswomen voted for the Equality Act in 2019, an act that would put men like the ones who stormed the Capitol into women's prisons on their own say so.

And these same Democratic congresswomen no doubt supported Biden's recent executive order, that allowed men into all federally funded women's housing.

The Equality Act, which the Democrats are reintroducing into the US House this month, will not only allow men into federally funded women's housing, but also women's locker rooms, hospital rooms, nursing home rooms, rape crisis centers...

So, if you have a Democratic congresswoman, please call them and point out their hypocrisy.

Point out that they themselves have now experienced the threat of male violence during the Capitol siege, and many have suffered PTSD from it, so how the hell do Democratic women in Congress think it right that their Equality Act will reignite the PTSD of traumatized women across America.

Passage of the Equality Act will also give rise to future generations of traumatized women as men take advantage of access to women's spaces in order to commit crime and harassment.

We need answers from the Democratic women in Congress, and we need them now, and on the record, so their hypocrisy when women's safety, privacy and dignity have vanished is absolutely undeniable.

Here's what politicians listen for: "I'm going to give you money. Then you do what I want."

And if you don't offer enough money, they hang up.

I don't remember government trying to tell me what I could say, think, write, believe, wear, etc. 20 years ago. It's like post-Patriot Act (they love the ironic names, Ministry of Truth) they saw they could literally have a stranger fish around in our underwear at the airport and we'd take it, so they decided to push more and more.

Gee, imagine getting arrested for "having had too much to think" (as the t-shirt saying goes) and you request a female officer to search you and you get Officer It's Ma'am. And when you protest, there's another charge against you!

I'm not sure the Equality Act can get past the Senate given the filibuster.

[–]BEB[S] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I saw a legal scholar claim that, but I honestly don't know if the Republicans would filibuster the Equality Act unless opponents on the Left (many of US) raise awareness of what's actually in the act, because who wants to be known as the person who voted against the EQUALITY Act?

Naming a bill something that sounds the opposite of what it is is a well-used trick in US politics to styfle opposition. For example, the Bill of Rights-crushing "Patriot" Act. That was passed after the Sept. 11th attacks when Americans were all, "USA, USA, USA" even though it had huge implications for Americans' legal freedoms.

Now Biden wants to rush a bill against domestic terrorism through in the wake of the Capitol riots. I haven't read too much on it, but I'm guessing it will lead to further restrictions on American freedoms. Politicians are so sneaky.

All to say, that ladies, we need to voice our very vocal opposition to the Equality Act to our congresspeople, and we also need to TALK to EVERYONE we meet about the true implications of the Equality Act.

With Biden and his non-stop EOs I fully expect him to declare everyone who voted for Trump will be lined up and shot, and the other half of the country will stand and clap. That's how divided and hate-filled things are at this point.

I can't believe the Cult of Woke has divided women against themselves. It's not arguing higher taxes and more "freebies" versus lower taxes and more "freedoms" -- it's familes and friends refusing to speak to each other, heightened hatred like I've never seen in my life, and now trying to punish people who acknowledge even basic biology. That's like math. You can vote right, left, anything in between and still know 2 + 2 = 4, but now even that is a "hate crime."

Hopefully when Gavin Newsom gets recalled, that will send a message to some of these extremist politicians and the billionaires who bankroll the Cult of Wokeness.

Now Biden wants to rush a bill ... I haven't read too much on it

This is all you need to know.

“Civil libertarians were opposed to it,” Biden said in 2002 of his bill. “Right after 1994, and you can ask the attorney general this, because I got a call when he introduced the Patriot Act. He said, ‘Joe, I’m introducing the act basically as you wrote it [back then].’”

He WROTE it!!

Thanks!

I remember Biden and the Patriot Act. I was vehemently opposed to the Patriot Act (and the war on Afghanistan) but back then Americans were in absolute shock about 9/11 and ready to do anything the government proposed to "keep us safe" and to "get revenge" so there was no talking sanity to anyone. Even my "liberal" friends were all "kill them (the 9/11 perpetrators and any country that aided them) all and let God sort them out."

And our military/industrial complex did just that - launched us on an endless "War on Terror" attacking all and sundry while curtailing the rights that make the US free.

And now we see a repeat, with that same Joe Biden now as the most powerful man on Earth. I did not vote for Biden (not Trump either), but I honestly didn't expect that he would be so destructive so immediately. I used to hate the Democrats and hate and fear the Republicans, now I hate and fear both.

I think her coming out with this now, in this manner, is extremely suspect. But supposing everything she's said is 100% accurate, I still think using sexual assault as a political tool this way is gross and damages the credibility of other women. It's emotionally manipulative. And I say this as someone who was also sexually assaulted, everything about this story makes me angry and deeply uncomfortable about her motivations. AOC is not about helping women, but about helping AOC.

[–]BEB[S] 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

I still can't forget AOC stepping into that creep's Mermaids online fundraiser (Mermaids is the UK pro-transition of children org - although they now deny it ;-0) the one where the creep (a gamer?) went after Graham Linehan.

Either AOC is too fucking stupid to do her homework about puberty blockers, or she hates women & children, or Big Pharma $$$ and or the gender lobby has helped her meteoric rise to fame.

In any case, after that Mermaid's fiasco, everything that comes out of AOC's mouth is suspect to me. And that she's held up as the Left?!?!?

[–]lefterfield 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I suspect AOC just doesn't care about the commoners - IE, anyone who isn't paying her currently. She wants the attention and political clout, and has no ethical values beyond that.

[–]SilenceThem_Consume 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

She refused to FORCE THE VOTE, which was a hash tag asking her and the other progressives to 'FORCE" a vote on medicare for all, by telling Nancy Pelosi they WONT vote her as speaker unless she calls M4A to the floor.

It was a real mask off moment for me, showing that when Trump is gone, most of our so-called progressives will stop pushing for progress (because trumpf isnt there to point fingers at anymore).

The only good democrat is Bernie, and the entire party cheated him.

[–]lefterfield 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah :( This has been a real eyes-open moment for me with the democratic party. I was disgusted by her claiming Ted Cruz "tried to murder her" and I don't even like Cruz. But all he said was 'I agree'. She could have ignored it, or said 'thank you' and nothing else - but no. She needed the drama, the attention, the political spectacle. Nothing else mattered, certainly not unity or her constituents.

AOC is not about helping women, but about helping AOC.

THIS! And it's true of all of them. These people have literally surrounded themselves with barbed wire and soldiers to keep the Little People from trespassing on their Elite Ground. Talk about bad optics. I've never felt so much like a peasant.

The funny thing about her story, which very few people are questioning, is why did she feel so unsafe ? Her office, which is where she claims these events took place, is not at the Capitol. Her DC office is at the Cannon building, blocks away, and no rioters were there. Nancy Mace has her office two doors down from AOC's and tweeted that there were no rioters there.

The media and the politicians made it sound like thousands of armed men were literally gunning for them. It looked pretty mild to me compared to Portland nightly for the past year.

Am I wrong to say elitist politicians are a lot like TRA? They think any move against them is "literally killing thousands"?

Nobody seems to care about that unarmed woman who was murdered by a Capitol policeman. I get it, she was trespassing. That sounds to me like you pay a fine, not get a bullet to the neck. When I took a gun safety class, they told me you can't shoot unless you are in grave fear for your life or the life of another. I can't believe an armed cop was in grave fear for his life against an unarmed woman in a QAnon t-shirt. I don't pretend to understand the QAnon group, but I know trespassing on the grounds of a building your tax dollars pay for should not be death sentence.

Nobody on the left is pissed b/c the woman was a white Trump supporter. They are all for criminal justice "reform" until it is someone they disagree with. They spend all summer demonizing the police all across America, didn't give one single flying fuck when officers were being attacked, assaulted and killed in riots that they repeatedly egged on, yet are all publicly mourning for the officer killed by the mob at the Capitol. Had that same officer dealt with a BLM riot a little roughly, they'd have doxxed him and been at his house that night with their mob. Just remember, nobody called it an armed insurrection when the mob outside the WH forced the secret service to move Trump. they called him bunker boy, bunker bitch, etc. That was a-ok with them b/c they agreed with the objective of the violence that day. The hypocrisy is so gross but the MSM is propaganda for them at this stage, so it is what it is.

Nobody on the right is pissed b/c she was involved in a violent riot and if you put yourself in a bad position, bad things tend to happen to you. TBH, i feel bad for her family, but she was responsible for her actions that day. Nobody knows what the mob she was with was screaming at that officer.

[–]our_team_is_winning 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Totally true about the hypocrisy. It's always party over principles.

Nobody knows what the mob she was with was screaming at that officer.

Last I knew, being screamed at wasn't grounds for shooting the screamer dead though. She was trespassing.

I know a lot of people on here seem to be confirmed Democrats, so maybe many share that "oh well she was a white Trump voter, so no loss" view, but it's only a matter of time before "oh well, she was a TERF" is said about women's rights activists who might be gunned down for protesting what they feel is injustice.

[–]Finnegan7921 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

if she and they were screaming "we're going to kill you", or any other threat of violence, and it appeared reasonable in that moment that they could actually carry the threat out, he had every right to shoot.

The thing about TERFs is already true amongst the TRA's and most left leaning people in general. The left is perfectly fine with violence in service of their cause; they aren't the least bit ashamed about it. How many of them stood up for the riots until they had to pull a soft condemnation of the burning, looting and violence ? Go check Rand Paul on twitter. Plenty of people openly stating that he should be met with violence for opposing men on women's sports teams. Not a single one will be banned.

fucking saidit just deleted my post. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm retyping but over half of it is gone now >:(

Adding to your post, this is another angle of the protesters that virtually all politicians are calling violent and "insurrectionists" NONE of our media is showing this - I had to literally go to images from ANOTHER COUNTRY to get these!!

Here's one of the 'white supremacists' who was marching on the capitol https://www.gannett-cdn.com/presto/2021/01/06/USAT/95093db4-34ab-49bc-9601-d13570b9ff55-david_tate.jpg?width=540&height=&fit=bounds&auto=webp

This is our CONGRESS's reaction to unarmed protesters: https://www.wivb.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/97/2021/01/AP21006717947235.jpg?w=876&h=493&crop=1 (No violence shown)

Here is Pilllosi when it's TRUMPF abusing protesters: https://www.air.tv/watch?v=IQAr_c0TTY6oVMiUSrjOzQ (this is a clip from msnbxir)

And what's MORE - she was a 15 year veteran of serving our country. If there was ANY justice in congress, ANYONE who cared for women or even veterans, the person who murdered her would be in jail.

I ACCIDENTALLY watched that video. It is so sad. She is climbing through a window thing. She has NO weapons on her, NO armor. NOTHING. She doesnt see this sneaky lowlife pointing his gun out a corner, scumbag doesnt fire any warning shots, its hard to tell in the video but i dont think he even warned her to get back, the scum got off on murdering a completely INNOCENT woman. LIFE wouldn't be too harsh on this complete waste of life.

(Partially graphic description 3/5 level ahead)

The lifeless scum then fired ONE shot and killed her. He WANTED to murder her. The cops ran up beside her lifeless body, you could tell one of them wanted to murder the fucker as soon as he spotted him. I won't get into any more detail than that, the video is a DISGUSTING ABUSE of power. She broke a window, boo hoo. You dont get to murder her, you fucking waste of life/

The smalldick coward probably weighed three times as much as her, if there was a SINGLE soul in congress, they would have put that coward in jail.

#Her name was Ashlii.

After going through those horrible pictures to find hers, I almost wish I could throw my keyboard through the wall.

It's the people vs the "elites", they don't serve anyone but their donors.

No, she was not just trespassing. She was part of a group of hundreds that broke into a federal building during a joint session of Congress, and she breached what appeared to be the last barrier between the rioters and an area where multiple members of Congress were sheltered.

That cop had no way of knowing whether or not she was armed, so that could not have factored into his decision even if he wanted it to. On top of that, I believe I've read the woman was wearing a backpack, which is not exactly something that cop would be able to ignore if he saw it -- multiple explosives were found that day.

I don't know what I think about the use of lethal force in that situation because it's a complex ethical issue, but the way you're portraying it is not accurate.

It's worth noting that aoc is also a fake progressive - when bernie really needed her help in the primaries, she stopped supporting him.

She's trying to build a career for herself and she doesn't have a rich family or decades of grassroots campaigning to back her up. Her career will always come first right now. Maybe if she's still around in ten years she'll be able to afford a conscious.

[–]Finnegan7921 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Yeah, right. She kept up the pretense until she was sure she'd never lose her first primary as an incumbent. She ain't getting off the gravy train to fight for the little guy. She is essentially an influencer politician. No actions of real consequence, just squawking thru social media, raising her media profile.

I saw that Ted Cruz introduced a bill for term limits (PLEASE!!! and make it retroactive!) -- to me any of them who refuse to support term limits are demonstrating it's all about them and their power trip. Once they're entrenched, you can't be rid of them and they can be bought by the highest bidder. It becomes financially impossible for anyone to unseat them.

Dianne Feinstein, and she just keeps getting re-elected. No shame.

And adding to this, Finn, she originally ran as a fierce progressive (I think with the justice democrats) but after getting into office she declined endorsing other progressives who supported the same issues!
