My first post on here but I became more familiar with GC ideas right before the reddit ban wave. I've been a lurker for a while mostly out of fear. I don't know why this made me feel so uncomfortable watching this but it did. I wanted to get your perspectives on it. Something about them adopting "female" banter to talk to Kristin and calling her a bitch (I don't even like it when other women do this to me or each other) and Kristin saying self deprecating comments about her womanhood and saying that they're being a better woman didn't sit right with me. It felt very forced and like Kristin is doing the "right thing". Still working through my GC feelings but this is just something that I thought I would share with you all since I don't have anyone to talk to about these things in real life.

You have correctly identified totally sick anti-woman BS. I can't even watch that. Brian is mentally ill and his wife is enabling it. Is Folie a deux the term I want here?

These two strike me as very fake, very inauthentic people with serious emotional issues as well. I found it impossible to watch more than a few minutes. Its all a performance. I doubt they know the difference between what's real and what's fake.

"Kristin's Wife Comes Out As Trans"

Dear lord, language is losing all meaning. Not knowing who Kristin is, the headline read to me as though she currently has a wife who is now identifying as male.

I am trying to imagine what could drive a person like Kristin's spouse to want to identify as trans. I feel like now a critical aspect of the gender contagion is the amount of validation these people must get when they come out. It must be very seductive to individuals who are very insecure. It is a way to focus attention on yourself and ensure that you receive nothing but praise for months or years on end with each step of the process that you choose to document. TiMs (not sure about TiWs, maybe it is the same) seemed to be showered with praise and support that that has no analog outside of major accomplishments. So coming out as trans is a way to continually get the adulation of having accomplished something profound without actually having to succeed at anything.

A profile of Kristin published in December 2020, six weeks ago, said:

Kristin and her partner Brian married on 19th March 2017. On 19th March 2020, Kristin wished Brian a happy 3rd anniversary via an Instagram caption that appreciated how much has changed during their marriage.

Perhaps, the biggest change is that Brian currently identifies as non-binary. They made the announcement in late June 2019. Chirico wrote on Twitter that she waited until Brian felt comfortable with his new identity before addressing them as they/them on social media. She said:

“I had to find a way to respect their gender while also respecting their timeline and process for coming out, so that led to me not mentioning them as much until they were comfortable being referred to as they/them in public.”

Of course he did.

Yikes, I couldn't even watch a minute of that, the fake, forced laughter is so cringe-y.

Oh, and Kristin? That is not an accurate use of the term 'lesbian'.
