Just watched it. Not much to say except women-only political parties are long overdue. As a black lesbian, I've never liked being politically-tied to black/nonwhite men nor gay/bi men. I'm tired of straight women, generally, saying we need men's support.

I'm tired of arguing with people about women's rights and being told "that's not the only issue that matters." Women are 51% of the population. If 51% of the population is just kind of a side issue, then what DOES matter? No one makes this argument about transgenderism. Or coal miners. Or "essential workers". They're all less than 51% of the population, but somehow it's totally acceptable to talk about their needs. Not women. Never women.

Well, even if we're talking about women's rights among women... our priorities aren't the same. Straight/bisexual women fight for specific shit like abortion when I'd rather fight for healthcare in general... making sure women get any type of care they need to be healthy and happy, healthcare without sexism (nor other bigotry, like better care for rich women than poor women). I'm not prioritizing abortion unless pregnant victims of rape outnumber women who choose to have unprotected sex with men.

I'm the lesbian version of Betty Feldman who didn't think lesbian issues were women's issues, male-partnered women's issues aren't my priority. I'd rather prioritize mental healthcare over abortion... I'm far more concerned about depressed women/girls, suicidal women/girls, women/girls who need meds in order to function or to sleep at night, women/girls who are obsessed about cosmetic surgeries (dysphoria or dysmorphia).

I doubt it's true that all straight/bisexual women prioritize abortion over health care. Nor that all straight/bisexual women are rich. You're choosing arbitrary reasons to divide women into categories rather than just saying: "Hey, these are the things I think are most important because..." and then seeing how many women agree with you. Also, it's rarely a question of: Can we have abortion or universal health care? All women's issues can still be important without needing every single woman to agree on which ones they want the most.

Abortion was the biggest thing in the 70s for women's rights. It's still one of the biggest today. Or "reproductive rights".

Well, general health care is not strictly a women's issue, so I don't know what you're trying to say by comparing the two. You're also completely, and likely deliberately, missing the point.

Thinking on this further, you're completely ignoring individual variances - lesbians who have had experience with rape or with a lack of access to abortion for themselves or friends/family. Straight women who have access to birth control but not necessarily to health care. Straight women who aren't partnered with men and have no more reason than lesbians to care about abortion. Straight women who are too old to get pregnant. And so on and so on.

So, what you're actually implying here is that a woman's political beliefs is based solely on whether or not she wants dick. That's some grade A misogyny right there.

It is. Most feminists only seem to care about making heterosexual relationships better.

A. That's a load of bullshit.

B. Heterosexual relationships are the most common so why is it unreasonable for that to get the most attention?
