Pretty sure the Republicans will blow it again by offering nothing but tax cuts for the billionaire class, neo-conservatism, Evangelicalism, Zionism, batshit crazy Q-style conspiracy theories, and a few culture war tweets on Twitter without any actual consequences. Shortly after the election, I thought that Trump might have a good chance to run and win again come 2024 - but given how things are going, his scorched-earth policy will probably rip what's left of the GOP apart. Then you have a neo-conservative establishment GOP and a crazy religious Q-type cult. (Or militant neo-conservative Zionism on one hand and fascist antisemitic conspiracy theories on the other...)

The Democrats will be hated more than ever ... but still win.

No they won't. The midterms usually swing away from the incumbent, and the Dems didn't exactly clean up in November which they were expected to do. Biden had absolutely zero downballot pull, which was strange. The D's lost ground in the house, and the only reason the senate is up for grabs is the 50% runoff rule in GA. Perdue beat Ossoff by about 80K votes, yet fell just shy of 50%, triggering the runoff.
The Republicans know that crime will be an issue in 2022 b/c it is rising EVERYWHERE, mainly in large, D controlled cities and the middle class suburbanites who were turned off by Trump will be even more turned off by the bullshit from the cities spilling into their areas, which will be a major factor in how they vote. They're going to get tired of being labelled as privileged racists ALL.THE.FUCKING.TIME. and enough of them will vote for the party that isn't playing identity politics and pushing racial quotas. The woke stuff isn't going away just b/c Trump is gone. They have legitimate power to influence policy and the Pelosis of the world would rather cave to them b/c she and those like her aren't the ones who have to actually deal with the consequences of allowing a crazy mob to control the narrative. Those suburbanites are going to see a tax hike and think "that's great, I'm back to paying for other people's stuff while I get fucked in the ass, how wonderful."

Illegal immigration will be back on the table the left will be screeching to allow a free for all at the border, give them free everything, and the R's will jump on that. Biden is going to be cozying up to China, will rejoin the Iran deal, etc. They'll have plenty to hammer Biden with, and that isn't even going into the Hunter stuff which will come out and hurt Biden b/c claiming he wasn't getting a cut of the millions paid for access to him doesn't pass the laugh test. His whole family has been failing upwards ever since he became a senator.
