We did it! I'm in shock. I went through every word and every video of the proposed sex education material for my 9 year old daughter. I challenged every single hint of gender ideology. I wrote to Liz Truss. I wrote to my MP. I wrote to Boris Johnson. I went to speakers corner. I talked to my family and friends. I thought it was all in vain.

Great news!!! Good job you all wonderful women in the UK who have pushed for this!

I hope the rest of the World follows suit: it is fucking time!!!

This is incredible! Well done!

In the US, this LGBTQ (really, gender ideology and lots of porn-ish sex acts) is just getting started. Apparently, Arlington, Virginia and California are the test areas (I don't know if there are other test areas).

So if you're in Virginia or California, or if you are seeing this in your own schools, SPEAK OUT NOW.

As I said in another thread, Trans, Inc., already anticipated that adults wouldn't buy its rubbish, which is why it's gone into schools and is very successfully indoctrinating our children.

In the US, Mass Resistance (very conservative group) is pushing back, and some parents have formed a non-political group in Arlington pushing back. There's also at least one grassroots parents' group pushing back in California. It's near Thousand Oaks but I'm blanking on the name of the school district.

SPEAK OUT. It's your kids' futures that are at stake.

I believe Washington state as well.

You're right, and Washington state made this creepy sex ed mandatory, if I remember correctly.

Gender ideology being made mandatory for young kids reminds me a bit of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. In that era, kids who'd been indoctrinated turned on the adults, including their own parents.

When I see how fiercely people under 25 scream "Trans Women Are Women" like super-charged androids, I fear that if we don't stop the indoctrination of children now, not just into gender ideology but all the other Post-Modernist crap schools are teaching - our kids too might turn on us, or at least, turn on reality.

The new guidelines also state that having a differing opinion from others is ok and that no-platforming and canceling is a form of bullying. It encourages respect for all people regardless of their opinions. I can't seem to find the link through my happy-tears but it is all out there under the DfE revised guidelines.

Mermaids and TRAs are backpedaling like crazy and saying "this has been what we've been saying all along!" "QT fights stereotypes!"

They need to be: 1. defunded and 2. held accountable for what they've done.

[–]MiaXiang 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Oh the backpedaling is entertaining to see. They've had so much success and support lying about physical reality they seem to fully expect to say "we never said that" and be believed.

Applause! Thank you for all the gc women in the UK who have worked so very hard and been attacked even harder for the work they have done. You got this done.

felching

Well that's today's horrifying word of the day.

I'm surprised to see the UK government talking such sense, to be honest. Boris clearly had nothing to do with this.

It was one of the many acts taught on a sex ed website for kids put up the Warwickshire County Council ironically called "Respect Yourself."

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/10184906/sex-education-warwickshire-website/

https://safeschoolsallianceuk.net/2019/09/28/how-a-sadistic-industry-is-being-sanitised-morning-star/

Apparently, the original funding for "Respect Yourself" when it was developed nearly a decade ago came from the NHS:

I think it was Liz Truss actually listening to the women who wrote to her. Boris, I think, would have done anything for an easy life.

Liz Truss is the Minister for Women and Equalities.

Congratulations to all our sisters in the UK for their dogged determination to fight against this insane ideology being promoted in schools in the face of continual harassment by TRAs. You’re all an inspiration! I can only hope the US comes to it’s senses soon too.

There were so many post recently of people loosing hope. As you can see, there's hope, but hope needs to be fueled by hard, hard work.

Good job everyone who made that happen. I truly admire you.

Thank you UK feminists. You really showed us how to push back.

After some pretty dreary months (both personally and globally) this absolutely MADE MY DAY. I am in awe. Excellent work! Will raise a glass today in honor of all the organizations, parents and individuals who made this happen. :)

This is further proof that fighting back can and WILL work. Let's keep at it!

Wow this is great news! For someone outside the UK, can you explain how such a drastic change happened in such a short time?

[–]MarkTwainiac[S] 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Short time? I don't understand. Feminists and parents have been working hard to gather evidence and make the arguments to push back against this ideology and its encroachment upon/into schools for years.

The UK's Transgender Trend was formally founded in 2015, but the founder Stephanie Davis-Aries was on the case well before that, as were many others. A similar organization, 4th wave now, in the US was founded in 2015 as well.

Quite a number of people in multiple countries have been sounding the alarm since the gender vendors first invented the idea of the "trans child" 15-20 years ago and the mainstream media and major institutions began pushing it. Such people have not gotten much media coverage except to be slammed as hopelessly out-of-touch transphobes, bigots, haters, prudes and prigs etc... but that doesn't mean they/we haven't been diligently working behind the scenes all the while.

But I do think one of the unique assets that the UK has that's played a HUGE role in turning the tide is the Feminism/Women's Rights board of Mumsnet. That's where a lot of people first started gathering years ago to express concerns about gender ideology and the way it conflicts with/upends child safeguarding and women's rights, to share information about what's going on, to hone arguments and strategies for fighting back, and to start organizing off-line.

Also add in that unlike the U.S., the UK’s NHS runs the the Tavistock child gender clinic. So there is centralization of information and control unlike in the U.S. where there are more private, profit-interested actors with a lot more power like the pharmaceutical industry and the cosmetic surgery industry. And of course trans became part of the U.S.’s insurance mess but it looks like a lot of questionable trans stuff is covered, but I’m not as familiar with the details. From what I hear, cross-sex hormones are less expensive than therapy, which is not surprising.

I think this is just one battle. The war isn't over, and Labour (main opposition party) still seems hellbent on self-id. Scotland as well seems keen to go down the Canada route wherever it has power to do so.

Success has been achieved by many, many individual women pushing back. I would advise:

  • write to your politicians. Especially if you normally vote Democrat, make it clear that this is a big issue for you that will affect your vote.

  • if you are under 30 DEFINITELY write to your politicians. There is a belief that all young people are on board with the TRA narrative.

  • donate to crowdfunders for lawsuits that challenge this ideology. In the US I would really support the girls in Connecticut who are being denied sporting scholarships because they have to compete against biological males. This issue is bigger in US than UK and drawing attention to their cause may raise support.

  • write to your children's schools if you are concerned about anything. Band together with other parents and push back as a group. Ask to see what is being taught and see whether regressive stereotypes are being promoted.

  • Keep the focus on women and girls. Make male politicians have to defend the belief that women who have suffered sexual assault or Muslim girls must be forced to share changing spaces with male-bodied people

  • try not to get sidetracked into discussions about bathrooms, as this is easiest for TRAs to defend. ("We just want to pee"). Keep the focus on changing rooms and women's refuges. Bathrooms are just the thin end of the wedge.

  • support women who speak up. JKR spoke up more loudly after she received cards and emails in support after she defended Maya Forstater. Thank your senators and representatives when they defend women's rights.

  • read the feminist boards on Mumsnet. It's a UK site but you might get some useful tips. (You have to watch your language carefully, though, so don't post unless you are sure you're keeping to the rules.)

  • phone radio talk shows if you're brave enough!

  • do not accept labels such as 'cis' or answer a survey question about 'gender identity'. Don't let this nonsense become normalised.

It takes lots and lots of individual women (and men) speaking up about this for years. However, the more who do, the more the shaky foundations of this ideology will begin to crumble.

Resources used in teaching about this topic must always be age-appropriate and evidence based.

There's no evidence that "gender identity" even exists, at all. Let alone that you could have the "wrong one" or that it ought to "match" your sex. So gender theory is out of schools totally, then?
