Fifth graders would refer to a penis or vagina, so maybe try a little less condescension. Chromosomes are not that complicated in 99% of cases, but sure, the SRY gene is what starts male development, and is found in almost every case on the Y chromosome. No need to be so rude.

Also, the SRY snippet always starts from a Y chromosome. De chappelles syndrome is what that person is referring to and it happens in 1 of 40,000 births. In the father, the sry snippet Moves from his Y to his X chromosome. If a sperm with that X chromosome w the sty binds to an X from the mother, that’s where you get the De Chapelle’s syndrome, XX with an sry snippet from dads y
