It doesn't have a definition the way they use it. If you do anything to offend a TRA (usually just disagreeing with them even on a minor point is enough) you will get called transphobic. It's really as simple as that. The fascist and authoritarian mind is not concerned with truth or justice. If they identify you as an enemy they will invent or amplify some infraction to justify that. There's a saying how fascist countries had more laws then any other country so they could always find something to charge you with - same with "transphobia". People seriously need to stop apologizing and groveling to these people. It will never be enough.

Yes, basically it’s the adult version of being called stupid.

Yeah, even trans people that are making reasonable critiques or even just asking reasonable questions are labeled transphobic, the word has no real meaning

I no longer care. Transphobic is a meaningless word to me now. Racist has also lost its emotional hold on me as well. I am jaded and desensitized because of 2020.

How can we determine what is transphobic even if we don't experience transphobia?

How can we be transphobic if no one can define or agree upon what transgender is?

I know what I want for women and I know what that looks like. That is being "transphobic" now. Ten years ago I was a "feminazi." If I would have been sentient in the 1970s I would have been a "damn women's libber ."

The message is the same: be quiet, little lady, or we'll gut you like a fish.

The goalposts constantly move. When everything is transphobic, nothing is.

I have yet to see someone chastised, cancelled, protested, screamed at, defunded, fired, had a dead animal nailed to their door, etc. for being offensive to any actual marginalized community (outside the Karen treatment for women (who should be held accountable, but I've only seen it directed toward women and not racist white men, so I question the motivation of the white people leading the mob) racist against black people). Otherwise, I have only seen this treatment toward women for their treatment toward the trans community. Hell, I don't even see people engaging (to be fair, I'm not on social media outside having been on reddit - maybe they just didn't want to engage there) the actual bigotry to gay and lesbians, immigrants, racial minorities, the disabled, etc. At best, I've seen a comment to the like of "huh, that was a little anti-semetic, bro."

Honestly, as soon as you accidentally screw up and misgender someone you're going up on the pyre. I don't mind giving respect towards the pronoun people, but god damnit.. I have ADHD and I can't be expected to remember someone's DnD character sheet worth of backstory for all this.

If you're branded a transphobe, it'll be okay. The term is being tossed around willy nilly now. It's shitty to feel ostracized from your social groups over thkngs like this, but the faster women learn that "shame" is used against us as a tactic to make us shut up, the sooner we'll be better for it.

I know in this pc, politically sensitive climate, people are getting too sensitive to issues by minorities so they don't wanna say anything offensive to the people belonging to marginalized communities. And I think the trans community is taking advantage of this.

They're absolutely taking advantage of this -- TRAs have co-opted BLM, skipped completely over Black women to center Black trans. Simultaneously, TRA hatred and denigration of Black natal women is on full display.

Any such term, including 'racist' and 'sexist' can obviously be tactically misused by stating that someone's behavior or words were racist or sexist (or homophobic and so on) when they weren't. The misuse can give someone a lot of power if others in the same group fear being labeled and are willing to shut up and let the accuser dominate the conversation.

I see 'transphobic' used online almost always this way, i.e., as a debate stopper, though I read about real transphobia in the news and elsewhere (violence, harassment and so on). I think that now it is fair to say that anything except complete compliance with any demands a trans activist makes, however extreme, will be labeled and treated as transphobia.

Oddly enough, I really don't see 'sexist' and 'racist' misused that much! Some, yes, but not like 99% of all uses.

TERF is used in an even worse way: It's the Scarlet Letter stamped on someone's forehead, and everything that person then says will be met with threats. And nobody bothers to even find out what is so horrible about being a TERF because the term and its meaning are entirely created by the most fervent trans activists.

"Islamophobia" is another term which is sometimes used tactically to stop any criticism of the religion, Islam. Its use should be limited to discussions of anti-Muslim bigotry, because it would be terrible if there was only one religion we cannot question or criticize at all. Criticizing the misogyny in religions is what feminists do, and it is important work and not at all phobic. Most religions have parts in their holy books which legitimately frighten women, and discussing those parts is not phobic but realistic and important feminists work.

I think this is similar to what is happening with trans activism. Nobody is allowed to criticize their religious dogma at all, even if that criticism is only about theoretical concepts and not about transgender individuals.

The goal posts keep changing if you are a woman and identify as such— essentially, unless we obey their every impulse and whim, we are “evil Natsee terfs who should get raped”.

Transphobia is meaningless and most people now no longer care if they are called transphobic.
