I saw someone post today about ROGD (though they didn't call it that...) and the reddit responses were "informed consent doesn't exist! You have to see a therapist for years in order to get access to medication!". I didn't engage because I would just end up banned from the sub.

That's the stuff that irritates me. You can argue "informed consent reduces barriers to treatment for transgender individuals" - without lying about it. But that's the whole argument. "I'm critical of x practice though" - it never happens! You're misinformed!

It's maddening, because the people making these arguments actually DO KNOW BETTER - you can see from their post history they are very involved in the trans communities - but they just straight up lie, to keep people from looking and thinking critically.
