They can't even explain their ideas. I've also got 'google it' when I try to press them - like when I tried to press them on why JKR is transphobic. 'Google it' they tell me. (I want your opinion I said, and then got silence)

I've noticed it too. ''Educate yourself'', ''google it'', ''TWAW full stop, no qualifiers, period''. I get that kind of response with sealioning neckbeards because you're genuinely sick of being asked to explain everything to people who won't listen, but EVERYONE gets shut down with the same playbook.

It's been bothering me a lot lately where I've paid more attention - what is their argument? They have a statement, TWAW, and they spew instant knee-jerk hate to any and all questions let alone dissent, but it's been a loooong time since I've seen any attempt at explaining gender ideology. You'd think it warrants an explanation. I can explain sexuality - not well, I'm an idiot after all, but I can.

I see explanations about mental health, racism, capitalism, political spectrums, history, linguistics, absolutely everything, all over the place. They don't even bother explaining dysphoria anymore, the one thing they, on the surface, even have sort of in their favour.

Slogans work really well to rally people. Think about "Make America Great Again". What does that even mean? What was great? Why is it not great anymore? It's so subjective. But it's also quick and catchy and you can chant it and put it on merchandise. It doesn't require you to think very far or critically. "Transwomen Are Women" has been really effective in this same way.

I'm new to this, and years ago, I honestly saw TWAW as a just polite validation of a few people, mostly people I knew who were being bullied. Then the entire internet hopped on board, added a ton of delusional subtext, and went literally into the definition of mass hysteria. I gave up.

I was also on board. I've had direct interactions with two transwomen and they were both fine, we just gamed together, nothing weird, then never really talked again. Didn't think much of it. I'm very much in the camp of people can do whatever they want if it's their business, if it isn't hurting anyone. I didn't think the transgender movement was hurting anyone. I know differently now.

Terf has been very effective, too. If anyone challenges their narrative in any way, they just get abusive and call the terf dog whistle. Most people don’t even know what the acronym means, but by now, they sure as hell know it is something bad.
