I just don't understand why all the fuss in that sub. I know it originally came to a head because of a post specifically about a woman asking about the hormones they take while transitioning and if those might be helpful in mitigating PCOS symptoms/side effects, but it's turned into this policing of language, wanting everything non-gendered. It's so weird this isn't an issue on r/breastcancer. Biological men who have it post there and are treated with warmth and respect, and none of them are going around chewing out women for addressing each other or the sub as a whole as women, or trying to tear down charities and campaigns because they're so female-centric.

The people doing this aren't just punishing the "naughty girls", they're punishing the entire community, themselves included, by pushing out their support and making a lot of the people trying to conform so uncomfortable they're too nervous to participate. So many comments on that thread and in the PCOS-Folks sub talking about how confused and unsure they are about what words are okay instead of getting support for their condition. Everyone's walking on eggshells.

Against hate subreddits seems to have had a huge part to play in it. They noticed there was an overlap between PCOS posters and posters who were on the so-called "hate" GC subs. They targeted it for that reason with the help of tagging software and brigading. I think I posted the links somewhere to the threads I'm referring to.

If you name subs here, they will be targeted next.
