Session Warning.

So Session prompted me to update. I did. Despite countless tries I couldn't log in with my password and I'm not going to purge everything and start over.

I went to the website, https://GetSession.org, downloaded their latest (an older one apparently) and installed it. I could log in first try. The second I was in it notified me that "This version of Session has expired..." and prompted me to upgrade again.

Months ago they had a flurry of updates within a few days and I'm hoping that will occur again now when others discover this problem too.

In short, hang tight.

Is it possible for corrupt forces to take over an open git project like Session, even if only temporarily?

all bad. my update went smooth, but then again I use an OS designed for stability.

Noted. I think it's much more likely to be the incompetence of the Session developers.

How about we continue discussions on the hidden forum on Incantation? It's available on clearnet again, by the way. The gateways have been fixed. I'm going to make a post about that soon.

My thoughts too. I don't expect I can login until they come out with a fix. Please lemmy know if/when there's another update.

Aren't we waiting for the proxy? I'll be getting it on Friday.

I sidestepped the issue by never updating Session.

The problem is that now your Session won't interact with the newer Sessions. And I'm not even sure it will interact with my older Session. It just stops until it's updated.

Seems to be working for me though not sure if the rest of us still use the older version.

Unless they've changed it, it will work but you won't receive anything new until it's updated.
