I've always loved art with pink-blue-purple colour schemes - it has nothing to do with my sexuality. Ever since I was a kid and knew nothing about the LGB(et al.) community, I've just always liked that colour scheme the most. It's got great harmony. It's everywhere in vaporwave/synthwave aesthetics, and it's the main reason why I was so into vapor & synth as a teen. So I was somewhat pleasantly surprised to find out that the bi flag had it too.

With all that being said, those shades in particular are.... not my favourite. Don't know why Michael chose (in my opinion) some of the ugliest shades of pink/blue/purple for our flag. It could have been so much prettier...

That shade of magenta was really popular in the late 90s.

Better than the flags coming out now I suppose. I still prefer the basic rainbow but I feel I need to represent the bi flag just in case someone mistakes me for pansexual, which is just a bullshit made up way to say "I'm bi but I think I'm more special than the other bi people."

I obviously don't like it. It was designed in 1998 and it looks like it. I also think the blue for men, pink for women, purple for mixing them symbolism is a little trite.

Wikipedia:

The pink color represents sexual attraction to the same sex only (gay and lesbian). The blue represents sexual attraction to the opposite sex only (straight) and the resultant overlap color purple represents sexual attraction to both sexes (bi).

I think the hot pink is bit bold(though admittedly it would be boring without the highlight), but I like how the purple is basically being squeezed into a thin strip in the middle between homo- and hetero-sexualism. Which is like- reality..

That is a good point I hadn't thought of.

Personally, I like it. Especially given the color meanings. Plus, it's certainly better than some of the newest flags (cough LGBT rainbow, trans, POC, AND intersex all put into ONE flag cough).

I detest the symbolism, but I like the colors. We should reappropriate it.
