I remember rotten.com. Not that I miss it but there were some pretty horrifying things on there. Pretty much the pinnacle of early 2000s internet.

Yeah I've heard of that website. I went on bestgore. There was some horrifying stuff on there too. (Fuck the 0 error)

It's not something I enjoy watching though I did a few times out of morbid curiosity. When I saw one of those Mexican cartel vids, that was it. It's still haunting me to this day. Do you remember Digg? It was one of the first link-aggregating sites. It became corporate then died; just like Reddit.

Reddit's hung around a bit more like a dingleberry you can't shake off. They've done a better job of enshittification by closing off the exits.
