What are you afraid of TimothyMartin?

No, I'm not. But I created the voting data that Saidit currently holds based on the belief that it was not publicly accessible information – or at least that it wasn't easily accessible by the public. Having a list of what I've voted on suddenly appearing would probably cause me to remove my account.

I am as motivated by social pressures as the next person.

Give me an example of anything on SaidIt that is so taboo that you'd be ashamed or frightened if folks found out about it. True or not, hypothetical, whether you are for or against it or even voted for it.

The numerous MartinTimothy inconsistent antisemitic nonsense rants. (I mean the really nonsense ones that contradict themselves, not the ones with a semblance of truth.)

Ok, so maybe I wouldn't quit Saidit, but I'd still feel uncomfortable about it.

You'd be "ashamed or frightened if folks found out about" the nonsensical ravings of a lunatic mind?

He's clearly got issues and is making them worse with his aliases.

I'm quite sure I've even voted for some of his posts or comments - whether it was because there was one good idea, or maybe to "read/unread" check them, or from before I even knew about his "issues".

I'm not embarrassed by that. If someone points to one of my votes for him I'll uncheck it, but I won't deny it. I might even leave it if he deserved it.

Ain't no shame nor fear in that.

Not everyone's as immune to social pressures as you are. If I had access to such a list, I'd probably—

This is a problem I have. Heh. I haven't been taking my own advice as regards to reviewing my own beliefs. "What do I think I know, and how do I think I know it?" is a maxim that I claim to live by, but don't. I thought "this is bad" and "this is bad because XYZ" but didn't think "is this something I should be concerned about?".

If a potential employer is snooping around on the web, finds my Saidit (which doesn't come up on the results!) and then proceeds to go through my voting history and disqualifies me from the job, I don't think I'd want to work for them anyway.

Sorry for the discontinuous train of thought. Here's to many more "I'm wrong"s!
