I think all the opinions are valuable, in the sense that it's worthwhile trying to understand what people believe. Or the lines of the Trolls from Olgino, for those that obviously don't believe what they're posting.

There's a few kids here that get a bit overly aroused by being able to use the n-word and slurs for the LGBTQ+ community in a public forum.

But it's their keyboard, and the carpet in their mom's basement, so I don't care enough to zap anyone.

You're the most patient user on Saidit. I don't know how you manage it.

Aw, shucks.

What are you talking about, he loses his shit slightly less than you, and that ain't nothing to write home over.

He generously offers - point-by-point - good arguments and evidence, unlike 99% of Saiditors who - especially for political posts - have nothing but child-like criticism, without good arguments or evidence. Phooey would often take the time to develop thoughtful arguments and evidence. RIP. I honestly don't know why /u/ActuallyNot bothers to visit Saidit, though I can somewhat relate to a user who likes to argue with brainwashed fascists in /s/politics. In my case it helps to see what the latest fascist trends are and how one might try to deal with them. But I don't have ActuallyNot's patience and rarely bother to respond to users these days. And when I recently had normal review comments on the Barbie movie review I was nonetheless attacked by schizos.

You both just repeat propaganda because that's what you get from your 'news' sources and you will engage in mental gymnastics to justify anything that doesn't fit your preconceived notions. It is utterly pointless to argue with you.

I think y'all are losing overall though. Reddit is dead af these days. Twitter is a free speech alternative to the legacy media that feeds you your lines. People are fed up with trannies so much it's dragging down the entire rainbow. Black people are being called out for crime. It's cool for kids to be conservative for the first time I can ever remember.

Suck a fat one, Socks.

This is exactly what's wrong with Saidit.

You both just repeat propaganda because that's what you get from your 'news' sources and you will engage in mental gymnastics to justify anything that doesn't fit your preconceived notions. It is utterly pointless to argue with you.

As usual - you've "lost your shit" with this attack, which is also a weak argument, and certainly no evidence is provided to support the baseless argument. You also cannot generalize about all news sources that "engage in mental gymnastics to justify...." It's just an empty accusation and attack. There is absolutely nothing here to discuss or to argue with because you've merely provided a baseless attack.

I think y'all are losing overall though.

Another baseless attack and a false generalization about me and another user.

Reddit is dead af these days.

Another baseless attack, in this case with an obviously false claim about a website with 1.7 billion visitors in April '22, and again in April '23. Here's your evidence: https://www.statista.com/statistics/443332/reddit-monthly-visitors/

Twitter is a free speech alternative to the legacy media that feeds you your lines.

Another baseless attack and false statement, as Twitter is currently in transition to include much more far right material (as we know), and certainly does not "feed" any of my "lines". Twitter is becomming a disinformation propaganda network for the wealthiest clients. (AKA "free speech" for those who pay to use it for disinformaiton propaganda; NOT free speech for the rest of us.) It's becomming a sewer of disinformation: https://foreignpolicy.com/2023/07/15/elon-musk-twitter-blue-checks-verification-disinformation-propaganda-russia-china-trust-safety

People are fed up with trannies so much it's dragging down the entire rainbow.

This isn't an argument because it's way off topic. (We're not discussing trans people.)

Black people are being called out for crime.

This isn't an argument because it's way off topic. (We're not discussing blacks.)

It's cool for kids to be conservative for the first time I can ever remember.

This isn't an argument because it's way off topic. (We're not discussing kids or conservatives.) Moreover, think for a second how far right media about the importance of being selfish, of being allowed to break laws if people support you, of attacks on people who don't look like you, of living like you're in a video game, of the cultural infantalist flood of entertainment media appeals to children. It doesn't take a mental heavyweight to understand how much the GOP base is often interested in this selfish, stupid, childish disinformation propaganda. We read it daily on Saidit, and there are only 3 or 4 users here who question that disinformation.

Suck a fat one....

In a phrase, that's the only type of response any reasonable person usually gets at Saidit.

That reply is the verbal equivalent of television static.

Indeed - you're speechless.
