That's probably not a bad idea. The violence will be concentrated in settled areas, and if your neighbors know you're a prepper, you're out of luck. They're coming for your hundreds of cans of refried beans.

I have a backpack packed with candles, lighters, lighter fluid, clothing, and maybe a couple personal items. I have a 2g phone with a 20 day stand-by time, and Ripple by the Grateful Dead on it. :) I'll be dead in a week, but I'll try my best.
