Why does Fanfiction (pre 2018) have more full adventure stories for any given fandom and now it's mostly smut dumps and weird fanfic rants?

I'm actually serious in all the fandoms I have gone there used to be more decent adventure length stories that had a purpose and moral reason now it's just all fluff and feels like Airport novels at best.
WTF? Nobody seems to respond in proper grammar and English on here anymore. I am thinking this site is all bots now.
