Does that kind of pivot, to make the person you are lying to 'responsible' for whatever dishonesty you are engaged in work very often? I get that it is a direct 'appeal to ego' attack, utilising the target's ego to derail them from their focus, but it is pretty lame and makes you appear weak.

The last time I checked, the Democrats weren't pro-life, opposed the second amendment, supported BLM riots, and took money from special interests. That's the opposite of who I am.
