So far revolutions have been attempted through both Twitter and WhatsApp. However both those platforms now have measures to stop that happening again including governments shutting the whole app/site down. Indeed often when there's political disturbance governments will cut internet and mobile signals across the country to prevent organisation via phone so its now pretty useless.

Even if you could use these apps or their less censoring knock offs you'd first need to build up a social network of people numbering in the thousands for it to work. People who start revolutions need to be popular I'm afraid.
