I would be casual friends with an incel, and might try to help them change their perspective from a self-defeatist mentality to taking responsibility for their lives, actions and relationships. I couldn't be close friends with a devoted incel though, because we become like those we associate with regularly and that mindset is rather toxic.

I do try to treat everyone with compassion though, and tbh all these posts about incels is becoming a bit obsessive.
