We've been too lenient to-date on content quality. Particularly in the comments. First, thank you to all those who actually read the post fully and think before you post a response comment. You are awesome. We appreciate the insight you bring, and deepening how we think about issues. For the other half of the community, shape up or ship out. We're seeing far too many people not bother reading the post, then make some idiotic comment amounting to a dumbed-down over-simplification of the issue. You are going to go missing soon if you keep doing that. I get it , you don't like to read. Reading is hard. So why don't you go back to watching porn or whatever is simple for you to do. I want to reiterate you are not adding value with oversimplification whether that be "never trust a white/black person" or "all conservatives are racist"/"all liberals are hypocrites",; nor with cyncial statements like "things are never going to get better for asians in america". When tempted to go this route, broaden your perspective, and taken into account the nuance in life. You'll end up getting closer to reality. This sub was once full of deep insight. It still is but it's drowned out by people who shouldn't be here. We don't want to replace what we had with defeatists, cynics, partisans and lazy low-EQ types. We'd rather be down to 15,000 solid members who add value than 66,000 members, 51,000 of which shit-post nonsense. We're not just going to remove useless comments, we're going to be banning people who keep falling in this category. For long-time members, you might recognize we make this kind of post every six months or so. We do so out of necessity because we get so many newbies without a clue. If you're a long-time member in good standing or even one of the rare newbies who actually reads our Core Views or our backlog of posts, you're doing just fine.
