What makes it unique among other reddit alternatives? It's using a proprietary website builder (wix), and all I see is basically a forum. It's not going to be a free speech absolutist site, because Wix states

it removes content that violates its terms of service, which prohibit hate speech, pornography, and other illegal or offensive material.

which sounds pretty arbitrary to me. So what does it offer aside from the myriad of other forums on the net?

You make great points, and thank you for checking it out. The WIX thing about them not allowing hate speech and stopping it does scare me. I used this software because it's no code, and I wanted to get things started. Even though WIX has their 'requirements ' I don't care, users of the site can still say whatever they want. And if that results in Lotus getting taken down, I will use Bubble.io and re-create the site there. What was most important for me right now was being able to get my vision out of my head and constructed.

What Lotus offers that other reddit alternatives do not. Is a fair (I use that term loosely) arena if you will, for people to say whatever they want about politics that doesn't lean one way dominating the site.

For instance, reddit is left leaning, and if what you post falls aligned with that, you won't be banned. But if you're on the right ? You get banned. That's not going to happen with lotus.

Another example. Poal.co for fucks sake you can't even post anything on there with out having to do a goddam captcha. And dude, I'm on the right, I'm conservative and my views there get me called a nigger (lol oh well) But again, if your views don't directly align with the site creator and users of poal, you are silenced.

Not on Lotus. I'm the type of person where I don't give a fuck what people think. And I feel like that is the attitude that is needed for a successful alternative to survive. It's a middle ground free for all and I'm not choosing sides. Even though the left are insane, it's up to the site users to debate. I'm not regulating speech.

The website creator answers some questions here: https://old.reddit.com/r/RedditAlternatives/comments/12vgej8/lotus_official_domain_name_finally_up/

Yeah, looks like an old-school forum for me too, not very reddit-like.
