That's probably because they're demi-boys/demi-girls. Those are defined as non-binaries that lean one way or the other.

How do you feel about the word Queer? by QueenOfTheNorth in LGBDropTheT

[–]starjello 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm okay with others using it if they want, but I won't because I find it odd. It's used as a kind of umbrella term yet still a part of LGBTQ+, which is just strange. People also use it if they are bisexual, questioning their orientation, or gender non-conforming. I wish more people would say lavender instead of LGBT+ because that is not a slur and purple has been historically associated with us.

I can't say I agree with the concept of "reclaimed" slurs either. I know people immediately use the n-word as an example, but we don't say the n-word community, n-word studies, or n-word people; we say Africana studies, the black community and black people. Racists and some black people may use the n-word variations, but the former do so maliciously and the latter do so for comedic purposes. The n-word, supposedly the reclaimed word, is still a vulgar.

I like using pet names such as "hon" and "dear" when I talk to people online, but I've heard TRAs do it often too and I worry about being mistaken for one.

They're right: fetishes are different from sexual orientations! If only people would stop hating those who say that.

I've known a guy that is similar to this. He'd say "I'd get a blowjob, but I wouldn't date a guy" and still call himself bisexual. I'm aware that the attraction to either gender can differ for bisexuals, but he sounds like a straight guy that's comfortable.

It reads like satire to me. I feel like the person is trying to make others realize (or admit) what "lesbian" as a word means.

The vast majority of gender-dysphoric children—studies find 80-95 percent—no longer feel distressed by their bodies after puberty.

Do most adults forget what it's like to feel uncomfortable and unsure about yourself when we're young? If any kid that has identity issues needs a medical intervention, every middleschooler is going to be rushed to the hospital.

That always bugs me. Things went from "sexuality isn't a choice" to "sexuality is a choice and I know the right one!"

So does anyone actually understand gender theory? by bi_otter in LGBDropTheT

[–]starjello 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I always thought of gender as the social expression of sex which is why it is a social construct. I don't use social construct to mean fake or unnecessary as it tends to be used today, I mean the plain definition: an idea that has been created and accepted by the people in a society. Gender is how we make sense of sex, sexual dynamics, and sex differences.

Current gender theory says that way is confining and there are actually perhaps infinite genders based on how someone views themself. It's usually talked about as something to be explored and something very personal. It sounds a lot like gender navel gazers theorists might have confused gender with personality, but maybe that's unfair of me.
