Gina Carano reveals that Disney asked her to apologize for pronoun usage by BEB in GenderCritical

Considering how warmly she still speaks about him, I'm inclined to doubt that he was one of the people giving her trouble.

Carrano doesn't even seem to be particularly GC. She just didn't like the "compelled speech" thing that was getting pushed on her.

You jest, but this is the company that literally gave a "droid rights activist" a prominent role in the Solo movie, and canonically made Lando Calrissian into a robo-sexual.

Can any of you maga Q cultists explain to me why the Trump administration and William Barr continue to protect Epstein and his elitist friends by blocking the release of these files? by Jesus in politics

A potentially legitimate reason is referenced at the end of the article you linked: that publicly releasing the files before Ghislaine Maxwell's trial is complete could provide Maxwell's lawyers the opportunity to argue that it prejudiced the jury. It would be giving them free ammunition for no particularly good reason.

A less legitimate potential reason might be that Trump and/or others are indicted by the files. If I'm not mistaken, they relate to Virginia Roberts/Giuffre's lawsuit against Epstien. She was working at Trump's Mar-a-Lago Resort when Epstien recruited her, and it's possible that there's more to that story that hasn't been made public.

Starting off a reply with a personal insult, this is gonna be good...

It's an observation, actually. Your argument (as stated) is completely incoherent. Even the examples you provide show the "ThisNeverHappens" expression being used in exactly same way that "terfs" use it: as an ironic way of pointing things out that do happen, not as a way of denying things that happen (as you've implied that they us it twice now).

No actually, TERFs do not have a monopoly on that hashtag. That is some BS right there. ... Typical TERF territorial pissing to claim ownership over something that is used by others online.

Trying to put words in my mouth isn't going to help your argument. You brought it up in a particular context, then got it wrong within that context. "Ownership" is not implied.

You are correct that "terfs" are more concerned about men entering women's spaces -- TIFs don't present as much of a physical threat to men as TIMs do to women -- but I haven't seen them pretend it doesn't happen.

You seem to have gotten your wires crossed. First, #ThisNeverHappens is about documenting assaults by transgender people that do happen. It gets it's name from the "that never happens, you're just a bigot" excuse that transactivists like to use whenever the topic comes up.

Second, it's pretty well acknowledged that a large number of TiFs have been straight girls coming out of yaoi and slash communities over the last few years, where identity politics have established very strong footholds. The numbers of TiFs who are lesbians is disproportionately high compared to the general population, but it's not all or even most of the current wave.

Hillary Clinton Says Biden Should Not Accept Results Of The 2020 Election by [deleted] in politics

No, I said exactly what I meant.

While I wouldn't put it past Clinton's camp to try and meddle with results, I suspect it's more of matter of her being out of touch than anything else. The DNC still hasn't come to terms with why so many of us turned away from them in 2016, and they seem to be doubling down on the stupidity rather than making any substantial change to their approach this time around.

Misleading thread title. In the second paragraph she's quoted as saying he shouldn't concede (that is: he shouldn't throw in the towel before all votes are counted), not that he shouldn't accept the final results.

This is such trash.

Just because a boy doesn't fit with whatever bullshit societal stereotypes you think are appropriate for boys, that doesn't mean he's not a boy.

Just because a girl doesn't fit with whatever bullshit societal stereotypes you think are appropriate for girls, that doesn't mean she's not a girl.

Just because various alternate interpretations of a fictional character may present them in different ways, with different motivations, or different desires, that doesn't change the core identity of the character.

Just because you may have some personal fetish or fantasy that makes you want to think of a fictional character in a particular way, that doesn't change the core identity of the character, either.

The only thing your "argument" here shows is that you're too shallow to look past your favored biases and stereotypes.

I think a lot of people went into it expecting bright lights and shiny tights, but it ain’t that kinda movie.

Are you sure you're not looking back with MCU-colored glasses in this case? Most of the decent comic book films in the 2000's were "dark and gritty", with the major standouts being movies like The Dark Knight or V for Vendetta.

Iron Man was pretty much the first "bright lights and shiny tights" comic book movie since the older Spiderman films that didn't suck, but it was still completely on it's own at that time -- the rest of the MCU didn't exist yet, and audience expectations were very different from what they are now.

The r/detrans saga is a little more complicated than that, and they've had to make significant sacrifices in order to stay up at all.

Their concept of gender is that it's purely a social performance and completely arbitrary (as opposed to reflecting social attitudes about the sexes), so they can create new "genders" on the spot whenever they change the tone of their voice or put on a hat.

That's pretty much their endgame. Everyone must fall under the QueerTM label, defining their sexual identity as a negation/transgression of "hetero-normativity" rather than as something valid and worthy on it's own terms, and be so emotionally detached from their personal sexuality that it's effectively reduced to a fetish that looks no deeper than a partner/object's "performed identity". Otherwise you're a terrible bigot, or worse: "cis". Shame on you.
