It kinda goes into another thought that I had that I'll make a sepereate post on, but the basis of it is that who you are has no affect on how others perceive you.

I've only ever worked shitty retail jobs anyway because I'm young but even then the difference between how the prettier girls versus me were treated was night and fucking day. And it's not even like these girls were nicer than me or anything, they were just perceived as looking better.

My male colleagues were either flat out rude or indifferent towards me. I'll make another post to really talk about it.

All of the things that have happened to me at the hands of men as the result of being an ugly woman would never in a million years happen to me if I was a man.

The reason being that men are pussies and typically try to avoid males they don't know, particularly if they're taller or bigger.

Men are too fucking cowardly to randomly physically and verbally assault another man or go out of their way to bully or demean them.

I wholeheartedly agree with you and I think the other two comments are inaccurate.

First off, confidence is not appreciated on ugly women whatsoever and if having some confidence was all it took to get people to start treating you like an actual human being you're probably not legitimately ugly and just frumpy/plain looking. Confidence will always be seen as obnoxious on ugly.

It's quite sad that there doesn't seem to be a grey area that exists for us when it comes to confidence; too little and your treatment from others will simply become unbearable, too much and people will hate you anyway. I personally don't think a golden ratio exists when it comes to confidence for us. Quite simply people find it ridiculous when ugly people have confidence in themselves, like when fat women wear sexy clothing or deformed people put on makeup and stuff. It's extremely sad and disgusting but it goes to show that it has literally nothing to do with how you present yourself as you said, and confidence is a large remit of that.

The fact of the matter is that it's hard to have confidence in yourself when you're constantly being picked at and criticised.

Confidence is like a tree; the taller your tree grows the more confidence you have. But with ugly people or anyone that fails to conform with the majority, your tree is constantly being cut down by others. There simply is no opportunity for you to form any semblance of self esteem.

Also I felt you on the job thing. Every job I had in the past was completely fucking awful irrespective of how hard I worked and how kind I was. People would still treat me like shit because I was an ugly black woman. Work is hardly ever about the actual work these days and more about fitting the aesthetics of the group and being able to be their personal jester.

I'd write more but I'm getting pissed off just thinking about it. I'd be happen to expand on or explain anything if you like.

Most men on these online spaces, particularly reddit and saidit, are typically sheltered white men that lack empathy and real life experience.

The only women that exist to them are average + white women up to the age of 25, the only group of people where the life on easy mode meme could ever be thought of applying.

They're aware that WOC and older women are around but we're simply NPCs to them; scenery in the background of their life's play.

I feel the exact same way about me and my jaw situation, not only that but my body too.

It's as if there's a giant party where everyone gets a piece of cake and yours drops on the floor. Yeah you can pick it up and scrape off all the dirt and lint but it's still a piece of cake that fell on the floor. And now there's parts of that cake that you'll never get to taste like the beautiful icing because it had bits in it, but everyone else gets to have icing--

That's exactly what life is like for me.

Whilst I was off to the side trying to salvage my broken piece that barely resembles cake everyone was having their fun, sharing the experience with eachother while I missed it all.

And even if at the end of the party I'm lucky and manage to find a new piece of cake it's just not the same. I'll be all alone, having to rush my cake eating experience, hoping that I'll get to enjoy every bit before the lights shut off on me and I have to go home.

If you have sleep apnea you should be eligible for jaw surgery which will fix the issues you have and make you look and feel better.

I feel like it's pointless but if we were going to open up a new sub it would be best to stay away from the cel world entirely.

We'd be better off calling it uglywomenwoes and make it stringent that our troubles are due to the way that we look first and foremost with things like mental health and others being secondary factors.

I think the fact that the femcel term became so ambiguous to the point that any woman could be labelled femcel was another instrument to our downfall.

It was these jaded non femcels that did most of the damage imo.

We need to start discriminating if we want a space where we can stay on topic and talk freely without being gaslit or silenced.
