Every religion wants you to fast because you hallucinate and really think you see and hear supernatural things in your mind when you do. Don't fall for it.

I don't hallucinate when I fast. But I see improvements on those things I pray for. As I said, after a fast that lasted days, I saw a loved one sober up and remain sober..... for nearly three years now. It's as if my will power was transferred to the person I was fasting and praying for. And God was on my side with the strength of his Holy Spirit pushing away the spiritual darkness.

Consider this: your enemy does not want you to take souls away from the kingdom of darkness, so of course they will try to convince you to not: fast, pray, and give alms. Your enemy will tell you to be a selfish glutton and drunkard, which will help no one, but will hurt yourself, and hurt those around you.

You definitely hallucinated sorry

We need to eat to live. Do intermittent fasting. That just means skipping a meal. Don't go days.

It's a sacrifice we don't have to Make anymore, Jesus sacrificed for us. In the old days Jews had to sacrifice an animal at the temple, this was just a scam so the priests could have free food to eat. Fasting was part of this, the poor would eat less so they could donate more to the priests, plus they'd hallucinate so they'd really believe the false prophets.

If not for Ramadan no one would be Muslim.

You definitely hallucinated

How did you come to this conclusion? Are you claiming it was an hallucination that the person I was praying for sobered up? There are many people seeing the same thing.... The person is still sober and even those that did not fast can see that.

Jesus taught, when you fast, do not make a show of it, but anoint your head and wash your face. Don't appear to be suffering to get sympathy from others. Let God see your fast done in secret and he will reward you openly. And we overcome the enemy by sharing the word of our testimony. I am sharing my testimony here hoping a reader will be encouraged that they can make a positive change for those they love. Jesus, who fasted 40 days, did not tell his followers to stop fasting. Fasting unlocks the power within.

So aren't you making a show of it making this thread? Why not encourage someone to read the Bible? Cuz no one would reply or upvote such a thread? It's always been said before and it's old news? Faith in god unlocks the power within.

Didn't Satan try to tempt Jesus in those 40 days? Why is it called the Black Fast? Is that mentioned in the Bible? Is it catholic, or pagan? What is Lent? Is it a vision quest? Why are we sacrificing? What else do you sacrifice? Do you abstain from sex too? Some think that gives you super powers too. Martin Luther said fasting made you lust after the flesh less which makes sense if you're artificially making your body less healthy.

You ask so many questions but did not answer my one question to you. You accuse me twice of hallucinating but offer no evidence to support your claim. All of your other claims now lack credibility.

I am not sharing my testimony to get make a show and gain the sympathy of men. Jesus said to anoint your head and wash your face when you fast. Isn't that so you do not appear to look like you are suffering? I share my testimony because (as stated in the book of Revelation) this is how we defeat the accuser. You are an accuser, aren't you, by accusing me of hallucinating?

Those with faith should speak up. Praise the Lord for the victories he gives us. I thank the Lord that my loved one is sober and free from alcoholism.

Iron sharpens iron. When we share our faith openly and show how God helps us when we pray and fast, then we encourage each other and share evidence that his word is true. Of course, the enemy will do whatever they can to get us to stay quiet. But the darkness cannot stop the light.
