The first 2 liter plastic Coke bottle was in 1978

Many other 2 liter bottles were plastic in the late 1970s.

Gallon milk jugs were plastic in the mid-1970s, if not earlier

Antifreeze was in large plastic bottles in the 1970s

5 gallon water bottles were glass and plastic in the 1970s.

Containers for sperm donations were plastic in the 1970s.

High-density polyethylene bottles were used commercially in the 1950s.

9gag - for those who never do their homework.
