Economic analysts and material culture analysts often disagree. They're often in opposing fields. Everything is economic. Everything is material culture. Now I wonder where your copying your notion of an "economic lense" as materialistic". This is perhaps ideal for GOP misinformation, to have their eager, knuckle-dragging followers try to avoid the normal lifestyles that they deserve, telling them that such normal lives are somehow materialistic.
