How is it compared to the varieties of rice you can find in American grocery stores?

The Japanese seem to grow more varieties. Some are sticky, like what is used in sushi, and some are less sticky. I bought two, and have tasted only one variety so far. My experience so far is that white rice is not flavorful on its own. It's like a blank canvas waiting for the colors. Other ingredients give rice the flavors.

When I ate the rice, I was most thankful that it came from a people that I love.... and one of the varieties is organic. Ironically, I live in the #1 rice-producing state (Arkansas) and have a hard time finding any organic rice for sale from my state!
