I touched my eye and even after washing my hands, cutting up so many of these massive jalapenos felt like being maced. I had to wash my eye out with mineral oil.

We had a talk about pepper hands not too long ago. Those cheap, disposable plastic gloves work well.

Yeah, you know, I just didn't really respect the heat of jalapenos. A little burning in my eye is nothing, but I wasn't thinking about how many pepper slices I was handling. I guess it just built up and when I touched my eye it was bad.

Oh well, mineral oil works like a charm since the capsaicin is fat soluble. Although right on the bottle it says not to put in your eye, I am pretty sure there are medication eye drops with mineral oil as a base so idk. Hasn't hurt so far anyways. Maybe you don't want to do it all the time or something.
