To me, it sounds like it could be either word. He released an apology, but I haven't heard that yet, so I don't know if it was a Freudian slip, or just not a clear annunciation of the word "Negro".

I have a friend who, when he calls me, always says, "What's up my N...a?" I know he's just joking but finally I told him him to stop it 'cause it made me really uncomfortable. He stopped.
