Same here, although you get a lot of people saying deadlifts are better. I have strong legs and core, so squats seem to be good for me. I think anytime you give your upper legs a good workout, it builds muscle faster there and helps build muscle throughout your body. Also a good calorie burner/metabolism boost if done on the regular. My biggest issue with them is it puts pressure on my neck and shoulders, even with a pad.
