That fellow just doesn't get that the point of a forum is to discuss things, not simply receive answers.

My issue with squats is my knees, I would just damage them more. I hear squats make your ass look nice though.

At some point in my former fitness journey, I determined that front squats are absolutely the best leg workout you can do. They work your core way more than deadlifts or back squats, and necessitate a much lower starting weight so are easier on your joints.

Yeah, in a more uniform fashion than most core exercises. I was never a huge fan of situps, but besides front squats I would dabble with reverse hypers and hanging leg lifts.

Also, I just watched a video to brush up on my crap and someone mentioned that they are also good for your upper back.

Same here, although you get a lot of people saying deadlifts are better. I have strong legs and core, so squats seem to be good for me. I think anytime you give your upper legs a good workout, it builds muscle faster there and helps build muscle throughout your body. Also a good calorie burner/metabolism boost if done on the regular. My biggest issue with them is it puts pressure on my neck and shoulders, even with a pad.

Squats are a good cardio exercise that builds core and leg strength. What more is there to say? It's like questioning the benefit of weight lifting or running, fairly self explanatory.

I mostly do them on the smith machine, so I can load up as much as possible...occasionally do real squats. Great exercise for that mental clarity.

Top reasons I squat:

Better to tbag enemies in games.

Easier to skateboard.

When you have a baby on one arm good luck bending over. Squats all the way.
