I just got tow scammed

The fuckers at my apartments had my car towed. The sticker was out of date, but here's the thing. I went out to water my plants about noonish. I saw two people in uniforms and overheard one say "I think its the guy watering his plants." Black dude and maybe a Hispanic woman, or a slender dude, wearing caps and blue uniforms.

Those fuckers knew I was a resident.

The scam is that if you can't cough up the $200 immediately, or the rapidly escalating daily storage fees, they auction off your car.

Those dirty fucks. I don't have $200. Thank god for my father or I'd be begging you guys to help save my car.

If there was a Facebook "hug" emoticon I'd react that way. Instead I'll just send you my best wishes to get this resolved quickly and painlessly. It is indeed a scummy move to tow your car just because the sticker is out of date.

Did you get any warnings? Our HOA for my wife's condo puts a sticker on the windshield 3 days before towing. I think each state has laws on how towing is handled.

If management makes a rule exception for one person, it can open itself up to lawsuits for those whom it enforced.

At this minute. How about 5 years ago? 10 years ago? What about in the future? Are you planning on moving? Are you working towards it? How badly do you want to move?

I find that in most cases, no one really cares enough to make the changes needed to achieve a goal, but are happy to complain about it. Not saying this is the case, I barely know you, but how badly do you want to move and how hard are you working towards that goal?
