I appreciate what you said but I think it's funny that you would add "without pushback" when I was threatened with banning by a supposed "mod" for saying that "the whole white genocide thing is nothing but propaganda" so that's kind of weird to me. So, yeah, even here idiots will be idiots when given a little power. (As it turned out, the idiot that threatened me is an American Nazi, which is why they got upset over my saying the whole "white genocide" thing was propaganda. Having said all that I have to agree with you that it would be nice if this thing became something, like you said but, sadly, I very much doubt that it ever will. More likely it will become and remain a little backwater safety zone for Nazis, white supremacists, socialists, communists and whatever happens to stumble on this site.

There are always going to be assholes on both sides. I detest how politics has become a non-theological religion. It's insane to me how people judge other people on their voting habits. They're no better than Christians in the old days that'd murder non-believers. I wanted Voat to become something as well, but it just became a place for middle-aged white trash that couldn't wait to drop an n-bomb. And now it's gone. I don't want to see Saidit go the same way.

First, historical correction: it wasn't "Christians" who murdered non believers, it was Catholics; an abominable offshoot and corruption of the Christian faith. Now, you're right. There are always going to be assholes, jerks, idiots, morons and retards on every social media site on Earth but that's part of what makes it interesting as long as those same assholes et al don't get a power trip going because they get a little power. I haven't been to Voat but, I have to ask.... How do you define "middle-aged white trash" and how do you identify it when you see it? As for the word, nigger, well, it's just a word and, in the words of the amazing and incredible Lieutenant Uhura from Star Trek; "Why would I be offended or upset by a word? In our age we've learned not to fear words."

Words only have the power over us that we choose to give them. Give words no power and they have none; a lesson both the Left and the Right have yet to learn.

On another note I think it's ironic that you blame Voat's demise on "Middle Age White Trash" when I've seen posts that blame "traps" and "trannies", "commies" and "nazis" and "alt right" with just as much vehemence and conviction but the simple truth is this: Voat went out of business for lack of money. Simple as that. As for Saidit becoming something, well, we'll just have to wait and see what happens but, considering how much effort Facebook and Twitter are putting into furiously crushing all competition who knows what'll really happen?

Voat went out of business for lack of money. Simple as that.

The owner of Voat (I forget his name) had hundreds of thousands of dollars in crypto. What happened was he sold the source code to one company, and that company ended up being acquired by another company which was owned by an IDF intelligence agent. And they "SHUT. IT. DOWN."

I used to have a roommate that'd wear things and say things just to get a rise out of people. He'd say fucked up things and post swasticas on Facebook, then bitch and moan when he got put in Facebook jail. That's how I view people that throw around nigger. They're looking for drama and they complain when they get it. I've never felt the need. I'm secure in myself, and I don't feel any need to upset people just to make myself feel special. So I don't say it. I don't care if a 80 year old lady says it's just a word.

Exactly. It is just a word and should always be treated as such and that's my whole point but you're right about there being people who do things for shock value and nothing else; it is just for attention but there are real (and very dangerous) neo-nazis out there who use that word all the time because it's part of their vocabulary. Personally, I don't use the word because I don't see the point since it has no real meaning other than as a derogatory slur and has no purpose other than to incite and God knows there's plenty of people in this world (too many, really) who's sole intent seems to be to do nothing but incite others like your old swastika friend.
