First of all: All colours are beautiful. This is a concept but obviously not mine.

People tend to categorizes other people in these categories more and more because it strengthens their feeling of actually being a groupmember by building an image of a common enemy. Most social networks even amplify or encourage this behaviour by discouraging the actual exchange of opinion through replacing it with a much easier to use vote function.

This only works if you let peer pressure touch you. But since more and more people got less and less time to read into a popular or unpopular opinion and looking at it from different angles, they pass their judgment on others imo way too fast. This is also encouraged by mass media through building a shell-shock like environment through constantly radiating fear, stress and anger. These emotions need something to be "released" or projected on and that is way there is so much indifferent hate between so many groups that actually may have a lot in common.

Most people either don't have or don't take the time to critically view at another opinion before deriving their point of view on it. They may also fear to differ with their own peer group because there is all this cancel culture.

This is encouraged by the internet-driven world we all live in but also an problem of media competence (that is almost never taught) and of ideology.

I think it is not worth my time defining others as friends or enemies just by a single agreement or difference of opinion.

You maybe can't fight the system your living in so easily but you always can change your attitude when looking at opinions that aren't yours.

Gold is usually hidden in what seems to be a pile of shit.

This obviously costs some energy and time and is the harder way to walk. But imo it is totally worth it.

Sadly it seems i am very alone with this kind of attitude sometimes.
