My Reddit clone (Matrix) now has a new feature called "post whenever"

I think it is going to help with the early stages of the site because it solves a problem that all new reddit like sites seem to have. Posting on these sites tend to be sporadic. When someone is in the mood to post content they are in the mood to post content, and you don't want to inhibit that. But that does mean a single person can slide the page pretty easily.

So this is where the option of "post whenever" can help out the site. A person can share all the links they want to share without concern. And then all the posts will be spread out over time in a way that keeps the site active and without a single user momentarily dominating. It allows the site to make maximal use of a good thing.

Do you have an absurdly large collection of LoTR memes? Just post them all. Do you have a large playlist of programming videos you think everyone should watch? You might as well share them all in one go. Is there a topic you think the site should have? You can fill up the topic. You don't have to worry about over posting because it will spread out.

Of course you can also just post normally if that is more your style.

Seems kind of lame, if I make a post I want it listed right that second. Reddit makes you wait ten minutes , or two months for conspiracy forum. Don't do stuff like that, whatever the reason, to frustrate trolls or make it not look like only one person is posting. Remember, it'll grow organically or it won't. You have to not censor.

I'm definitely not looking to censor. It's not mandatory and is just an option. It's sort of like scheduled posts but it defers scheduling of it to the system to maximize the front page.

I do still need to add it to text posts tho. Once that is in someone could become the AskMatrix god with almost zero effort. Give it a day or two.
